The Boring But Important Details...

1. Can we bring the kids with us? / Les enfants sont ils les bienvenus ?

I'm afraid, this is going to be an adults only affair. Babes in arms under one year are welcome, as they'll be on the milk not the champers. If you are able to, please view it as an opportunity to leave the kiddywinks with their grandparents/nannies/a charming stranger and come party.

FR: Malheureusement, non - c'est un événement sans enfants. Sauf les bébés de moins d'un an, qui sont les bienvenus !

2. Can I bring a date? / Puis-je venir avec un +1?

Unless your loved one has an invite of their own (check on the RSVP page), then we're afraid we can't accommodate a +1.

FR: À moins que votre proche ne soit spécifié(e) sur votre invitation, nous ne pouvons malheureusement pas inviter vos +1.

3. What's the plan for Monday and what should I wear? / Quel est le plan pour lundi et que dois-je porter ?

We were very keen to celebrate our wedding over two days rather than one, so we've planned an afternoon and evening of special entertainment on the Monday :) It'll begin with lawn games and some chill time by the (small) pool, so bring a swimming outfit if you fancy a little dip. As we move into the evening, the dress code is smart-casual, so throw on a summery shirt or light dress (and a sweater in case it gets chilly) - to give the Cafe du Theatre the respect it deserves! (There are plenty of private places to do a cheeky costume change.) We won't say too much about the 'Cafe du Theatre', but you can expect some entertainment coming from us clowns!

FR: Nous souhaitons célébrer notre mariage sur deux jours plutôt qu'un seul, nous avons donc prévu un après-midi et une soirée d'activités le lundi. Cela commencera par une série de jeux de pelouse et il y a aussi une petite piscine, alors apportez un maillot de bain si vous avez envie de faire un petit plongeon. En soirée, le code vestimentaire est chic et décontracté, alors enfilez une chemise d'été ou une robe légère (et un pull au cas où il ferait frais) - pour donner au Café du Théâtre le respect qu'il mérite ! Il y a de nombreux endroits privés pour faire un changement de costume.

4. What's the dresscode for Tuesday? / Quel est le code vestimentaire pour mardi ?

Bust out those glad rags (smart clothes for native French speakers) but keep it colourful and fun! DRESS TO EXPRESS! Wear something that makes you feel fabulous (and that you can boogie in, of course). Worth mentioning, sections of the wedding including the ceremony require walking on grass. So stilettos might not be the one, particularly if the ground is a little soft.

FR: C'est le grand jour: faites vous beaux ! Jouez l'elegance, et osez la couleur !! Portez une tenue qui vous fait sentir fabuleux(se) (et qui ne vous contraigne aucunement pour danser, bien sûr). Notez que certains moments de la cérémonie nécessitent de marcher sur l'herbe.

5. What's the dress code for brunch on the 6th? / Quel est le code vestimentaire pour le brunch du 6 ?

For those who are still with us on the Wednesday, wear anything you want! If you've made it this far, you've earned the right to turn up in your Pikachu onesie and Bugs Bunny slippers. No judgement from us.

FR: Venez decontracté.e, comme vous le sentez ! Si vous avez survécu, vous avez gagné le droit de vous présenter en pyjama, on ne vous jugera pas.

6. Is there parking at the venue? / Y a-t-il un parking sur place ?

There's more than enough free parking at the venue for those who choose to drive. We'll provide coaches to and from Sens on the day before and the day of the wedding.

FR: Oui, il y a beaucoup de places de parking gratuites sur place pour ceux qui choisissent de conduire. Cependant, nous mettrons à votre disposition des navettes aller-retour pour Sens la veille et le jour du mariage. Nous vous fournirons également les coordonnées des taxis, au cas où vous souhaiteriez partir plus tôt (ou même rester plus tard...) le soir du mariage, ou pour vous rendre au brunch le lendemain matin.

7. What happens if it rains? / Que se passe-t-il s'il pleut ?

If it rains, then we will party TWICE AS HARD. Seriously, we have plenty of contingency plans in place including indoor areas to dine and dance. So come rain, storm or flood, the show will go on.

FR: Qu'il pleuve ou qu'il vente, la fete aura lieu !! Nous avons prevu de nombreux plans B, dont des espaces intérieurs pour dîner et danser.

8. Can we ruin all your wedding photos by taking our own? / Pouvons-nous gâcher toutes vos photos de mariage en prenant les nôtres ?

We've spent the cost of a car on a professional photographer. So no matter how good you are with a camera (put your BAFTA away, mate…), we want to see your faces not your phones. So for the ceremony (at least) please switch them off - your phones, not your faces.

FR: Nous avons trouvé une photographe et un vidéaste incroyables, et nous ADORERIONS qu'ils ne prennent pas mille photos de vous tenant un portable. Meme si vous êtes doué avec un appareil photo (range ton CESAR, Tom…), pas de photos (au moins pendant la cérémonie).
