What are the dress code and theme?
Festive Formal! Dazzling After Dusk!
Dress code is formal wear featuring jewel tones, silver, and gold. Calling on the vibrant hues of the aurora borealis is encouraged! Essentially, get dressy, have fun with it, and be bold and bright!
What does a cocktail-style reception mean?
We wanted to focus on the many foods we love while allowing folks to mingle and dance freely without the formality of a sit-down dinner. There will be rounds of passed hors d'oerves and food stations, as well as dessert, with plenty of casual seating around the venue.
As such, and since our event is taking place primarily in the evening, please consider having a light snack or meal beforehand if you anticipate getting the tummy rumblies without a full meal.
I have dietary restrictions/I don't drink!
We're trying to be conscious of those of our guests who may have different restrictions or requirements for what they take in and have that reflected in our food menu. Drinks will include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including mocktails.
Will the wedding/reception be indoors or outdoors?
Margaret Place has both indoor and outdoor areas, but we will primarily be set up outdoors in the courtyard. If rain is in the forecast, the venue will set up tents for outdoor spaces.
What time should I get there?
Doors (& bar) open at 6pm, with ceremony planned to start at 6:30.
What should I expect for the timeline of events?
You can expect a short but sweet ceremony followed by a second line parade around the neighborhood. When we return we will dive right into the reception with food, drink, and music. After the reception we will head over to Courtyard Brewery across the street for our after party, and probably some karaoke.
Can I bring a plus one?
Please refer to your invitation! If you're not sure, text us!
Can I bring kids? What about dogs/cats?
As much as we love all the little ones in our lives, human and furry alike, we ask that you let them sit this one out.
When should I arrive?
We will have a welcome drinks bachelor/bachelorette night on Friday evening which everyone is invited to join. On Saturday there will be recovery activities in the morning, followed by a casual hang somewhere in the city in the evening. Sunday is THE BIG DAY. We'd love to have you all for the whole weekend but we know how life can be! Come for as much as you can and we'll be honored by your love and presence.
Do you want gifts? Money? Student loan forgiveness?
We prefer gifts in the form of your presence, but if you feel inclined, we have a cash registry and would also accept donations to local charities in our name. If you've got some sort of in with student loan forgiveness, we won't say no to that.
Will there be transportation?
Since our ceremony and reception venues are one and the same, we will not have transportation for the wedding.
Where should I stay?
