What is the dress code?
The dress code is Fabulous with a capital F! Gents - your best suits (no need for tuxedoes as the groom shall not be in one) and ladies - think "that stunning outfit you bought that one time but have no idea where to wear it" or "ooo I'd love to buy that to-die-for dress but where will I wear it?" well here is your chance!
Where shall I stay?
We tried hard to secure a group rate at one of the nearby hotels but didn't have much luck! So sorry about that!
However, there are many many accommodations online, both hotels and Airbnbs. We would definitely recommend booking ASAP though as Rome gets booked up quickly!
If you are planning on spending a few days in Rome, we recommend staying either in Trastevere (half way between the venue and the historic centre) or the historic centre of Rome. We have spoken more about those locations in the "Travel and Where to Stay" section.
Whatever will I do with myself all of Saturday?
You're in Rome! Have an Aperol and chillax!
Jokes aside, if you have a look at the "Things to Do and Places to Eat" section you will find all our top recommendations of incredible things to see in Rome and our favourite restaurants. We've also included our favourite dishes in each of those restaurants to really help you on your Roman journey!
I've heard Italian weddings have lots of food, will this be the case with yours?
Indeed it will be! So pace yourselves please!
We aren't in England anymore!
Please be aware that our wedding meal will be divided into TWO SECTIONS! The buffet is only the FIRST section so eat eat but know that there will be a SECOND section which consists of a sit-down meal (only 2 courses but still). Then of course there will be lots of desserts, so if you want to dance at the end of the night instead of passing out on the lawn, I suggest you pace yourself :P
You keep telling me to get taxis, but how do I do that?
From the airport, there should always be a queue of taxis. Sometimes at Ciampino, this can be a problem and Uber does exist in Italy, but I would go to the queue first and use Uber as a last resort!
Taxis are pretty affordable in Rome in general and there are lots of taxi ranks scattered across the city!
There is a big taxi rank right next to Piazza Navona and when in doubt, you can call either +39 06 6645 or +39 06 3570.
It is a child friendly event?
Indeed it is! We love you and we love your children so bring them along!
If we have enough children in attendance, we will try to organise a special child/play area where they can hang out supervised by a childcare professional while you eat and dance the night away!
Can I take pictures?
Absolutely! You go right ahead! And please use the wedding hashtag #willandangelicawedding on Instagram so that we can see all the wonderful pictures!
Please do however refrain from taking pictures in the ceremony as we will have a designated photographer who will capture the intimate moment!
What dishes must I try while in Rome?
Back to food! Guys, these are the absolute classic Roman dishes that you must try (many of which will feature in our wedding): Pasta alla Carbonara, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe (cheese and pepper pasta), Bucatini all’Amatriciana (red sauce with guanciale - kind of like bacon), Pasta alla Gricia (white sauce with guanciale), Pizza bianca (Angelica's favourite - it is simply pizza bread with a bit of oil and rosemary - delicious with a bit of mortadella), Cicoria Ripassata (for some veggies), Carciofi alla Romana e Carciofi alla Giudia (artichokes - alla Giudia are fried) and Maritozzi (dessert)
Anything else?
Guys, please please please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any more questions about Rome, where to stay, what to do, anything! We are here to help! We are so very grateful that you are making the effort of travelling across oceans to celebrate our special day with us so we want to be there for you for anything you might need!
