✈️ If you are taking a cheap and cheerful Ryanair flight from London, the likelihood is that you will be landing in Ciampino!
Once landed, the best way to get into the centre of Rome is taxi. There should be a queue outside the airport. The fixed tariff is €31!! Don't let them haggle you!!
✈️ This is the posh Rome airport - BA and transatlantic flights will definitely land here!
From here, the taxi rate is fixed at €50 (don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Rome taxi drivers can be a bit...let's say...imaginative with pricing), but you can also easily take a train into central Rome.
Trastevere is one of our top two recommendations of where to stay if you are planning on doing a few days in Rome.
It is right in between the venue and the historic centre of Rome and has a super fun (albeit quite rowdy) nightlife!
The historic centre is our other top recommendation of where to stay.
Even though you are not really within walking distance of the venue, you are walking distance from all the most amazing sights that Rome has to offer!
It is also calmer than Trastevere in the evening, so if you want to party party, Trastevere is your guy, but if you want to sightsee and then relax in the evenings, the Historic Centre is just perfect!
If you want to stay near the venue and are only doing a stop-over trip, this hotel seems great.
We actually viewed this hotel when we were looking at potential wedding venues! It is really beautiful with a stunning garden for breakfasts.
