Driving in San Francisco, parking at the Kohl Mansion
It's a long weekend in San Francisco! We hope you use the three days of festivities to delight in the alternately chic, vexing, futuristic, twee, and romantic area we call home. Lyft is basically always available in the Bay Area, so know that you can always get around that way. If you're coming in from out of town, we recommend renting a car so you can explore the Bay in its entirety and get to some nature spots in addition to the city attractions. Caltrain will get you from city to city if you prefer to take public transportation and/or bike.
There is ample parking at Kohl Mansion but no public transportation that will get you directly there. Carpool if you can (for the fun of it if for no other reason), and make sure you either plan to use a car service or designate a driver!
The Red Victorian
We loved this hippy-dippy Bed and Breakfast when we visited for Annie's birthday. Rooms are very limited, so if you're interested, book ahead. Expect existential conversations with fellow life wanderers over breakfast. Recommended for Haight-Ashbury nostalgics and wannabes.
Airports
There are three airports in the area: San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC), and Oakland (OAK). San Francisco is closest to the venue, and also (in our opinion) the most elegant. There's a yoga room, and the seating areas look like they were designed by the Jetsons' interior designer's hip cousin from LA. San Jose is a smaller airport; if you're staying in San Jose or the Peninsula, it's a quick and easy option. Oakland is more of a hike--and traffic can be quite bad getting in or out of the East Bay. However, Southwest has a much stronger presence in Oakland than in either of the airports, and tickets are sometimes cheaper.
Long story short: any airport of those airports will work, but be sure to map the potential route to your hotel before you book. SFO is very near to the venue; SJC and OAK are probably a 1-hour drive away (without traffic).
Dinah's Garden Hotel Palo Alto
Our affordable hotel option! A cute boutiquey hotel in Palo Alto with lovely grounds. Check it out if you're looking to stay in a tiny oasis and don't need anything too fancy.

Room type availability is not guaranteed; the above discounted group rates are offered until room types are sold out or the cut-off date, whichever comes first. Additional accommodations on nights not indicated above are based on availability at a different rate. The above rates are for single and double occupancy. For triple occupancy, add $10. For quad occupancy add $20. All rates are net, non-commissionable and exclusive of hotel occupancy tax. The hotel occupancy tax is 14% and Business Improvement Tax is $.85 per day.
Contact the Reservations Department at 650.493.2844 or use the online group booking link provided by the hotel to make reservations. Make sure to identify yourself as Atura – Bushnell Wedding participants in order to receive Group rates.
A credit card will be required to confirm reservations. Reservations cancelled less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the arrival date will be assessed a late cancellation fee of one (1) night's Group room rate in effect and charged against the individual credit card on file for the guest.
After August 4, rooms and the group rate will be accepted on a space and/or rate availability basis only. So book now!
The Four Seasons Silicon Valley
A mid-range hotel option! The Four Seasons is very close to the 101, so it's great if you'll be shooting north to San Francisco or south to San Jose at various points during your stay. Pleasant and straightforward.
Our room block here gets you special rates too! Make your room reservations directly with the hotel--call 650-470-3847 and make sure to request the Atura / Bushnell Wedding Room Block, or the group rate that applies may not be extended.
Also, keep in mind that the Four Seasons isn't SAVING these rooms; the guest rooms will not be held out of inventory, so all room reservations are subject to availability at the time of call in. Discounted room rates will be extended until corresponding room categories are sold out. So the sooner you book the better.

The Rosewood
Our fancy-pants option. This is a hotel known for hosting swanky entrepreneurs who are in town to talk to venture capitalists and incubators. Poor Stanford students are known to make pilgrimages to the bar to observe the wildlife in their natural habitat.
The Rosewood also has a lovely pool area, so if you plan to hang out at the hotel and enjoy the weather and a view of the rolling hills, this is the place for you!
Our room block here will be available until 45 days before the check-in date. Here are the rates:

The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square
This is where we got engaged! We were at a wedding fair of theirs for the free champagne when Tyler popped the question inside a photo booth. Happy memories.
This place is smack dab in the middle of Union Square, a touristy spot with lots of shopping and foot traffic. A cable car stops right outside. The hotel itself is historic. If you'd like to stay in a more standard tourist spot with access to San Francisco's attractions, check it out.
We have a block of 15 rooms reserved here; it's the "traditional" room at $269/night. Available Friday through Monday. Identify yourself as part of the Atura-Bushnell wedding party--and make sure you reserve by August 1! That's the cut-off date.
