To all those coming from out of state: HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE. When you are at a higher elevation, it is very important to stay hydrated. The ceremony will be at an elevation of 9,019 feet and the reception will be at 9,026 feet above sea level. If you're feeling thirsty, you're already dehydrated.

To out-of-staters who wish to exercise while attending the wedding: Please modify your workout. Exercising at this elevation WILL kick your butt. (Look for where to workout on the "Things To Do" page.)

To the McIntoshes who intend to drink a lot at the wedding (looking at one of the groomsmen): Alcohol is NOT more potent at higher elevations but make sure you are also drinking water.

ONE LAST REMINDER: The groom is a cop. There will be cops in attendance. Don't do anything illegal. The happy couple will not bail you out.

Airbnb & VRBO

There are plenty of hotels up here in ski country, but they can be expensive. Fortunately, we came up with a plan! If you're looking to save some money, the bride is offering a matchmaking service of sorts! Several Airbnbs and VRBOs in Summit County could hold multiple couples or even multiple families! By splitting the costs between individuals, couples, and groups, we can help you save a little money on what we realize will not be a cheap trip.

If you already know people who are going, reach out to them! Maybe you're the bride's age and your parents are going. Maybe you have family who's going. We recommend starting there.

Otherwise, here is the bride's phone number: 815-222-6929. Text her with your first and last name, how many in your party, and your travel itinerary. She will try to pair you up with people you may already know and will share their information with you. Maybe you can even share a rental car!

If you have an extra room or rooms in your rental and are willing to have others stay with you, please let the bride know!

Cars and Shuttle Services

There are many places to rent a car at DIA (Denver International Airport). We strongly recommend you get all wheel or 4-wheel drive. You can book a rental car through CostCo if you have a membership, but there is an alternative.

As stated earlier, this is ski country! There are three different shuttle bus companies that make multiple daily trips from DIA to Summit County. Some of them even offer to take you right to the door of where you're staying, or you can take a discount bus to a central transfer hub.

Wondering how you'd then get from where you're staying to the wedding events? See the bottom of this page for information on the free Summit Stage buses!

We recommend price comparing between rental cars and shuttle buses. One may be cheaper than the other, based on the size of your party.
