Our Wedding

Like any good modern romance, Ashin and Katie met online and courted each other through deep, thoughtful conversation. Can you guess which one our two poets said the following:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1) "So you seem like a cheese-pert. What's the best cheese for a grilled cheese?" 2) "Science can't be trusted. There are totes dinosaurs in Canada. You know it. I know it." 3) "Right? Fair warning: if we're in the middle of a conversation and I happen to see a puppy, I have 100% stopped paying attention"

Our Story

Where to stay:It's been a bit difficult to plan exact numbers and availabilities due to COVID restrictions in Maine. We've made a few hotel blocks available, but honestly there are lots of really great hotel and AirBnB options that are significantly cheaper! Please choose wherever fits your weekend plans the best! How to get to the venue:We will be providing bus service to the venue from both the Hyatt and Residence Inn in Portland-OldPort, and the Hilton in Freeport. We opened up another hotel block in downtown Portland at the Residence Inn! They have a few options between Kings, 2 Queens, and King + sofa which may help everybody out with the lodging logistics. We will make sure that the Portland shuttle will pick you up!

Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Downtown/Waterfront

The Hyatt Place provides a great location in downtown Portland where the welcome event, after party, and farewell brunch will be held. It's a very fun place to stay! They could only provide King bed rooms (with a queen sleeper) in the block, so we understand if you want to look elsewhere! The hotel is 30 minutes from the venue, and we will provide a shuttle from here for the Maine Event.

Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port

The Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport is a bit closer to our venue for those who want to minimize that travel time. It is 20 minutes from our the Maine event in Pineland Farms, and it is also 20 minutes from the rest of our events in downtown Portland.

Travel

We know a lot of you are travelling to get to our wedding, and we really appreciate it! Adventures in New England was a big part of our getting-to-know-each-other, While you're here we really hope you get a chance to enjoy the New England summer!

The ferry to the islands around Portland is a great day trip for a picnic or some light biking!

This is a favorite local hike of the Ricciardi family! Maine is teeming with beautiful hikes for all sorts of difficulties. We really hope you get a chance to experience the beauty!

Maine's got some great local breweries for you to try. From the bike-and-brew tours in downtown Portland, to the hidden gems scattered around the countryside, you can't go wrong. We highly recommend picking up a bottle of Lunch from the Maine Beer Company

Portland's got some great baked goods. While most folks are partial to donuts from The Holy Donut, we also recommend Scratch, Katie's favorite bakery!

Let's be clear, there's no shortage of really, really good places to eat in Portland. (It's a big part of why we like it so much). There's burgers and sandwiches at DuckFat, pizza from Ottos, Micucci's, or The Flatbread Company, New American from Fore Street, or lobster rolls from just about anywhere. If you're looking for something fancy and a bit unique, we suggest Eventide Oyster company!

We'll keep you updated on any COVID-related situations here. 8/10/2021 Hi all, As the Delta variant gets worse, we are requiring that all guests provide proof of vaccination/negative COVID test. (There should have been an email sent to you or members of your party). We also ask that guests wear a mask when not eating and drinking. Our wedding day will be fully outdoors, although the reception will be in a tent (roof cover only). Our welcome event will be indoors, but we have chosen an event with 2x capacity to ensure that everyone will get the chance to socially distance as needed. Excited to celebrate with you all!
