DRIVING FROM DENVER

The drive from Denver takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, depending on your route. We recommend taking I-70 west for stunning fall colors along the way. If you'd like to break up your drive, consider spending the night in Glenwood Springs or Ouray—two of our favorite mountain towns!

Once you reach Glenwood Springs, take Highway 82 south to Carbondale. From there, follow Highway 133 toward the town of Redstone and ascend over McClure Pass to Paonia. Enjoy stops at the many vineyards for a glass of wine, or visit an apple orchard to savor homemade ciders and jams in Colorado's wine country!

Continue southwest to Ouray, known as the "Switzerland of America," to explore beautiful waterfalls before continuing on the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton. From there, navigate down another mountain pass, and you’ll arrive at Purgatory!!!
