How to get to Ireland

For guests flying over from the United States, the main international airports in Ireland are highlighted below.

*Please keep in mind when booking that flights are usually red eye flights leaving late at night and landing in Ireland the next day in the morning.

Be sure to check that your passport is up to date!

Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is a smaller international airport on the west coast of Ireland, just outside of Limerick. It is about an hour and a half drive from Ballyseede Castle.

This is the airport where Ashley and Matt will be flying into.

Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is a larger international airport on the east coast of Ireland. It is about a 3 hour drive from Ballyseede Castle.

Kerry Airport

Kerry Airport is a small regional airport located less than 15 minutes away from Ballyseede Castle. There are no direct flights from the United States to Kerry Airport. However, there are flights from Dublin Airport to Kerry Airport that take under an hour.

Please keep in mind that these flights from Dublin to Kerry are only available on certain days of the week.

*We recommend getting travel insurance (including health insurance) when traveling internationally. Check out www.squaremouth.com to get a quote.

Public Transportation

The public transportation system throughout Ireland can be great, however, please consider that the town of Tralee may not have direct access by public transportation depending on where you are traveling from.

The main bus system is Bus Éireann and the main train system in the Irish Rail.

If you plan to use public transportation throughout your visit, we would recommend downloading the TFI Go app where you can look up travel options and purchase tickets. You may also want to consider getting a Leap Card at the airport or a visitors center to use on the bus/train.

We have laid out the easiest public transportation options to Ballyseede Castle from each airport below. Please consider that these options could change or may not be the best option for you depending on the timing of your flight.

Traveling from Shannon Airport to Ballyseede Castle: Take Bus Éireann line number 51 from Shannon Airport to Limerick Bus Station (approximately 30 minute ride). At Limerick Bus Station, transfer to Bus Éireann line number 13 to Casement Station in Tralee (approximately 2 hour ride). From Casement Station, Ballyseede Castle is an easy 5 minute drive with taxis available throughout Tralee.

Traveling from Dublin Airport to Ballyseede Castle: Take Eireagle/Citylink bus (available to be booked in advance) from Dublin Airport to Limerick City Arthur's Quay Park (approximately two and a half hour ride). There, you will need to transfer to Bus Éireann line number 300 to Tralee (about an hour and 40 minute ride). From Tralee, Ballyseede Castle is an easy 5 minute drive with taxis available throughout Tralee.

Traveling from Kerry Airport to Ballyseede Castle: This is less than a 15 minute drive. We would recommend taking a taxi which can be scheduled in advance or can be called after you land. The list of recommended airport taxis can be found here.

Private Transfer

For those who don't want to have to worry about public transportation or driving, there is the option to hire a private car transfer from the airport to Tralee. Below is a list of recommended companies.
