Gerald R. Ford International Airport
This is the closest airport, but not always the cheapest. Alternative options would be to fly into Chicago or to Detroit and to drive the 3 hours to Holland. Or take the Amtrak train from Chicago to Holland.
Chicago O'Hare International Airport
This is a 3 -4 hour drive from Holland, but you could take the train to downtown Holland.
Chicago Midway International Airport
This is similar to the O'hare option.
Cherry Capital Airport
There is a small airport in Traverse City that is now serving various airline options! Again, this is also a 3 hour drive to Holland.
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
Also, a 3 hour drive to Holland.
Where to Stay
We would encourage you to make a trip out of this!! Connect with some longtime friends or some new and reserve an AirBnB! Or stay in one of the local hotels near downtown. Most of these details are also contingent upon a rental car. We are getting married at the church that we have been serving at and it is quite close to downtown Holland. You may not need a car, unless you intend on going to the beach or beyond!
You could stay longer in Holland if you want:
Possibly inquire about a 4-week Summer Rental at Hope College. -- We don't know what they would say, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
Most are for homes that are close to downtown or nearby where we plan are getting married, but there are a few that are closer to Holland State Park (HSP) or down by Douglas. You are not limited to these options! But I hope you can come together to choose some that is financially feasible for you.
