The Worcester Art Museum is only few blocks from the reception venue.
Our wide-ranging exhibitions tell global stories—from art made thousands of years ago to works being created today. The Museum’s collection of over 38,000 objects, assembled since its opening in 1898, provides a foundation to connect visitors of all ages with art, artists, and the ideas they spark.
The AAS library today houses the largest and most accessible collection of books, pamphlets, broadsides, newspapers, periodicals, children's literature, music, and graphic arts material printed before the twentieth century in what is now the United States and is open to the public. It's a five minute walk from the reception venue. They have guided tours every Wednesday at 3PM and it looks like they do sometimes perform evening tours. I would check this page https://www.americanantiquarian.org/tours to see if one is offered when you are in town other than the regular Wed tour. I was able to attend a tour and really enjoyed it!
I didn't see any shows for August 3-4; however, you may want to check back closer to the reception to see if there schedule has changed.
Another venue for catching a show. The schedule did not extend out to August when I posted this. May want to check what is showing closer to August.
Fun activity for kids and adults with indoor and outdoor exhibits. We use to take the kids here all the time!
Local brewery where you can also grab a bite to eat or visit many of the other great restaurants on Shrewsbury Street.
We walk here all the time and love it!
