For several months following her college graduation in Spring 2024, Beth and Mitchell continued their long-distance relationship as BethAnnie pursued a career at Kendall Hunt Publishing Company, also in Dubuque, IA.

After an eventful summer spent apart, Mitchell proposed to BethAnnie on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, at Palisades-Kepler State Park with the help of photographer (and sister-in-law), Rachel Hartman. The Palisades held a special place in both their hearts, as lovers of hiking and the outdoors. According to Mitchell, he had been planning to propose to Beth atop the Cedar River dam for several years. Lo and behold, she said yes!
