Remember to check the expiration of your passport!


If your passport expires in September 2025 or sooner, you will be denied entry.

Guests have a few options when traveling to Lagos, including:

Option 1: Fly to Lisbon. Once you have arrived in Lisbon, you can either (i) fly to Faro, as described below, (ii) take a train directly to Lagos (approximately 3-4 hours), (iii) rent a rental car to drive to Lagos or (iv) coordinate a private transfer to drive you to Casa Monte Cristo, as described below.

If you are spending time in Lisbon, we recommend taking the train to Lagos, as it is cheap, reliable and takes about the same time as flying or driving. You can buy tickets 60 days in advance. We recommend booking directly with the train, rather than a 3rd party website. Tickets can be booked here: https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en. There are multiple train stations in Lisbon ("Lisboa" on the train's website), so look to see which is closest to where you are staying. When you arrive in Lagos, you will be in town and need to uber approximately 8 minutes to Casa Monte Cristo.

Option 2: Fly to Faro from a European airport (Faro is a small airport 50 minutes from Lagos). Faro has frequent arrival flights from Lisbon, London, Dublin and many other major cities. Once arriving in Faro you can take an uber, taxi or coordinate a private transfer. We recommend using a private transfer service (85 euro total for up to 4 people or 95 euro total for up to 8 people).

Option 3: Fly direct to Faro from New York. United has started offering direct flights to Faro from EWR every other day of the week. Once arriving in Faro you can take an uber, taxi or coordinate a private transfer (such as Good Feeling Transfers or VATravel Transfers).
