One day in 2014, while serving fajitas and chimichangas in a Pennsylvania Mexican restaurant, Brigette received a phone call that, unbeknownst to her, would change her life.&nbsp;&nbsp;There was an opening at Pope John High School for a Theology teacher and they wanted her to come in for an interview. &nbsp;





Brigette showed up a few days later and while waiting for her interview saw a gentleman walk in to the principal’s office and&nbsp;close the door.&nbsp;&nbsp;She then heard him say, “this one looks nervous.”&nbsp;&nbsp;Ironically, these were the same words she thought to herself years later while vacationing with him in Maine hours before they got engaged.















Brigette and Brian’s paths crossed often at Pope John while working on various projects together such as food drives and retreats but it wasn’t until after&nbsp;some serious encouragement from their colleagues that they started dating.&nbsp;&nbsp;















Their “secret work relationship” continued for two more years before Brigette took a new job and for the first time the word about Miss Hanley and Mr. Vohden was out.















Brigette and Brian got engaged in Bar Harbor, Maine in July on the Somesville Bridge, a picturesque spot Brigette first learned of from a painting in her grandmother’s house.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;















Their Catskill wedding at Hunter Lake is&nbsp;the summer home Brian has enjoyed with his family for generations -- a legacy begun by his great-grandfather.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Is the reception indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors! We've rented a large tent for our cocktail hour and reception, this way there will be lots of space and room for&nbsp;fun, a fire pit, lawn games, etc.&nbsp;























What kind of food will&nbsp;be served&nbsp;at the reception?&nbsp;























We love,&nbsp;LOVE appetizers and we've always felt like that's the best food&nbsp;at&nbsp;a wedding, so we're having passed hors d'oeuvres&nbsp;and food stations throughout the evening.&nbsp; This means no formal dinner but&nbsp;lots of food all throughout the night.&nbsp;&nbsp;























Are you having an afterparty?























Yes! That's what fire pits are for, stay and hang out at Hunter Lake with us.&nbsp;























Will there be shuttles?&nbsp;























Since we're not doing a traditional room block and most guests are staying at&nbsp;AirBnB's, lake houses,&nbsp;and smaller venues we cannot provide a shuttle, so please make a&nbsp;plan to be safe.&nbsp;























What&nbsp;should I wear?&nbsp;























Cocktail attire, think late summer upscale garden party vibes. Ladies, please wear flats or a low block heel, as we'll be spending lots of time outside on the grass.&nbsp;























Will you be having a full Mass?























Yup!&nbsp;We're in it for the real deal. We're both lifelong Catholics and this is something that is special to us.&nbsp;

Driving from New York City

Cross the George Washington Bridge (Westbound, upper level) staying in the right lane. Exit immediately right onto the Palisades Parkway. Travel North towards Bear Mountain for 19 miles to Exit 9 West (towards Albany) and take the NYS Thruway North to Harriman, Exit 16. Follow Route 17 West for 64 miles to the Livingston Manor Exit 96. After exiting, bear right under Route 17. At the T-intersection, turn right. Travel one mile and turn right at the sign for Lew Beach onto Beaverkill Road (Route 151) and continue seven miles through the hamlet of Lew Beach. Continue 2.2 miles to the small bridge on the left, marked by the sign, “Beaverkill Valley Inn.”

Driving from New Jersey

Take the Garden State Parkway or Route 287 to NYS Thruway North to Harriman, Exit 16. Follow Route 17 West for 64 miles to the Livingston Manor Exit 96. After exiting, bear right under Route 17. At the T-intersection, turn right. Travel one mile and turn right at the sign for Lew Beach onto Beaverkill Road (Route 151) and continue seven miles through the hamlet of Lew Beach. Continue 2.2 miles to the small bridge on the left, marked by the sign, “Beaverkill Valley Inn.”

There are many AirBnB's in the area. Try to choose one in Livingston Manor NY or Parksville NY area, as these are all relatively close to the Church and reception venue.

We love the casual atmosphere and beer here. You can bring your own food and taste their beer, or grab a bite to eat from the&nbsp;Catskill Brewery food truck. They also fill growlers to bring home!&nbsp;

Catskill Brewery

Danny and Kelly Vohden love this spot the most, but we have come to love it too!&nbsp;Delicious pastries and coffee to go, always a staple stop when staying up in the country.&nbsp;

Brandenburg Bakery

This is a great brewery to catch some live music, enjoy the beer garden,&nbsp;have some apps and taste some beer.&nbsp;

Roscoe Beer Co.

This brewery is brand new to Livingston Manor, and absolutely gorgeous!&nbsp;The beer is fantastic and they also serve small plates, sandwiches and burgers. We&nbsp;took a day trip to check it out in the winter about a month after opening, and it was totally worth the ride. This summer, it has been our favorite place - social distancing and all!&nbsp;

Upward Brewing Company

The original site of Woodstock is not far from the area of the Catskills that you'll be visiting.&nbsp;On your way up, stop by and visit the historic site.&nbsp;

Museum At Bethel Woods

Retro and fun spot for dinner, if you time it right they have something called "Summer Friday's" with a fire and dancing.&nbsp;

The Arnold House

Great pizza and creative cuisine with a fire pit, cozy retro upstairs bar and small batch gelato, another winner for a Friday night dinner.&nbsp;

The Kaatskeller

Raimondo's is a solid choice for a good meal, especially if you arrive on Friday night.&nbsp;
