Over a decade ago, Brittany and Danielle began living parallel lives as accounting majors at Fordham University in the Bronx. Though they shared mutual friends, their paths never crossed, until overachieving Danielle emailed overachieving Brittany asking for career advice. Their lives became intertwined as they interned together, took the CPA exam together, got their Masters together, and eventually started their careers at Deloitte together. Their friendship blossomed - they became work wives if you will - and on one fateful night before Brittany transferred to consulting, she told Danielle how she really felt about her. After some initial shock and months of unnecessary reluctance, Danielle finally asked Brittany to be her girlfriend on their first trip to Newport, RI.


Since that special day in 2019, Brittany and Danielle have been on a challenging yet rewarding journey. They spent months quarantined together in NYC during the COVID-19 pandemic, traveled everywhere from national parks in Maine to beaches in Miami, then later took their talents to Philadelphia for Danielle to pursue law school at Villanova. They worked hard to achieve their goals and leaned on each other to get through difficult times. They also enjoyed their newfound passions for Villanova Women’s Basketball, and, to the dismay of their New York relatives, Philadelphia Eagles Football. They knew their lives were permanently intertwined and would never unwind.


On August 13, 2023, Brittany took Danielle back to Newport, RI and proposed on the same bench where Danielle asked a different question years prior. Just a few days later, Danielle took Brittany to the Fire Island Lighthouse and proposed back, putting the cherry on top of Brittany’s Long Island summer, which, as she likes to note, also featured a middle hair part and aggressive driving. They can’t wait for all that 2024 has in store, including Danielle’s law school graduation, a big move back to New York, and a wedding at West Point, New York on the 21st night of September, just as Brittany put into all of her friends and families’ phone calendars shortly after she started dating Danielle. They highly encourage everyone to practice their dance moves to the famous Earth Wind & Fire song in advance!
