Brooke and Dawson first met on August 16, 2019, during the M Climb, a cherished tradition for freshmen at the Colorado School of Mines. They had exchanged a few messages on social media before discovering they shared one class for their first semester. Dawson made it a point to sit next to Brooke in class, eager to get to know her better. Before long, they began to meet outside of class, with their hangouts often revolving around homework, movie nights, and video games.

After about two months of getting to know each other, Dawson finally gathered the courage to ask Brooke to be his girlfriend. They officially started dating on October 29, 2019.

Their first official date (which, to be fair, Dawson could improve upon) was a screening of The Joker on November 1, 2019. Ironically, this outing took place after they had already started dating; they joked about their busy college lives getting in the way of more romantic plans.

As the semester came to a close, Dawson and Brooke returned home for Christmas break. During this time, Dawson surprised Brooke with a visit to her hometown to celebrate her birthday, where he met her family for the first time.

When the spring semester began, everything felt familiar again, just as it had before the holiday break. However, their freshman year was abruptly interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The campus transitioned to remote classes, and all students living on campus were required to move out. Brooke and Dawson found themselves quickly packing up and finishing their first year of college from their respective homes.

Throughout the summer of 2020, they managed to visit each other occasionally, but it wasn’t until the start of the Fall 2020 semester that they could reunite in Colorado.

From that point on, Dawson and Brooke continued their relationship throughout the rest of their college years. They cherished every moment they could spend together amidst their busy class schedules and Brooke's commitments as a varsity soccer player. They celebrated anniversaries, took trips to each other's homes during the holidays, and grew even closer as a couple.

By the time they graduated in May 2023, Dawson and Brooke had been together for approximately three and a half years. Dawson received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, while Brooke earned hers in Mechanical Engineering. To celebrate, they took a graduation trip to Hawaii with some friends.

After their trip, Dawson started a full-time job as an electrical engineer, while Brooke utilized her final year of eligibility to play a fifth season of varsity soccer at Mines and pursue a Master's degree. As they achieved many significant life milestones, Dawson decided it was the perfect time to add one more to their journey together.

On February 24, 2024, Dawson proposed to Brooke in one of their favorite spots in downtown Denver. They celebrated their engagement with close friends who surprised the happy couple. From that moment on, Dawson and Brooke began eagerly planning their wedding to mark the beginning of their lifelong journey together.

As they prepare for their special day, they are filled with excitement and gratitude, looking forward to celebrating their love and lifelong commitment to each other with friends and family. Sharing this meaningful occasion with the people who have supported them throughout their journey makes it all the more special. They can’t wait to create lasting memories with their loved ones as they embark on this new chapter together.
