In the meantime, here are some common questions our guests might have.

We know there’s a lot of information here, and not everything will apply to everyone, so just scan through for anything you’re curious about before reaching out.

When and where is the ceremony?

Our ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, a beautiful church just minutes from the hotel. We kindly ask guests to arrive by 1:30 PM to be seated before the service begins. Parking is available onsite. Located at 2000 Chestnut St, Camp Hill, PA 17011

What if I’m running late to the ceremony?

We kindly ask that all guests arrive early so you don’t miss a moment of the celebration! If you do happen to arrive after the ceremony has begun, please wait outside until after the bride makes her entrance. Our day-of coordinator will let you know when it’s okay to quietly enter. We promise it’s worth the wait! We don’t want anyone accidentally spoiling the moment! Please plan ahead for parking and traffic to ensure you can be seated and ready before the ceremony begins.

When and where is the reception?

Our wedding reception will take place at 5:00 PM at The Historic Peter Allen House, located at 1801 Peters Mountain Rd, Dauphin, PA 17018.

Please note that our venue, does not open for guests until 5:00 PM. We kindly ask that guests do not go to the reception right after the ceremony, as we are not contracted to be there until that time.

How far is the ceremony and hotel from the reception?

Both the ceremony and the hotel are about 20-30 minutes from The Historic Peter Allen House, where our reception will take place. Trinity Lutheran Church (our ceremony location) and the Penn Harris Hotel are both easy drives to the venue, with scenic views along the way, perfect for a little breather between events! If you’re staying at the hotel, you can also take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service to and from the reception so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

When do I need to RSVP by?

Please make sure to RSVP by August 1st so we can give our final headcount to our venue and caterer. If we don’t receive your response by the deadline, we’ll have to assume you’re unable to attend and will mark your RSVP as a “no.” We truly appreciate your help in keeping everything organized, it means so much as we plan all the little details to celebrate with you!

How do I book a room at the hotel?

We have a room block reserved at the Penn Harris Hotel by Wyndham. You can book a room by calling their front desk directly at 717-763-7117 and mentioning our wedding, or use the booking link down below. The cut-off date for accepting reservations into this guest room block is Friday, 09/25/26. The room block is limited, so we encourage you to book early!

What should I do during the break between the ceremony and reception if I’m not staying at the hotel?

Our ceremony should wrap up around 3 PM, so there will be a few hours before the reception begins at 5:00 PM. If you're not staying at the hotel, no worries! You’re welcome to relax in the hotel lobby! We’ll have light refreshments and snacks available for guests during the break. If you’d like to grab a drink or a bite, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel’s own restaurant and bar will open at 4:00 PM, perfect timing if you want to unwind with a quick cocktail after the ceremony. Dinner will be served at the reception around 6:30 PM, so feel free to enjoy the downtime however you choose!

If I’m only staying at the hotel Saturday night, will I be able to check in before the reception?

Yes! Since the ceremony ends at 3:00 PM, guests staying at the hotel can head straight there afterward. This gives you plenty of time to settle in, freshen up, or relax before the reception begins at 5:00 PM. Please note: We can only guarantee room availability at the Penn Harris, as that’s where our room block is located. If you’re staying elsewhere, we recommend checking with your hotel about their check-in time.

We encourage guests who are staying at the hotel to invite friends and family (who may not have a room) to hang out and relax with them during the downtime. It’s a great chance to catch up, freshen up, and get ready to celebrate together!

Is there a dress code?

Yes, we kindly ask guests to follow cocktail attire. Since our ceremony will be held in a church we suggest wearing something respectful for the setting. There will be a break between the ceremony and reception so if you’d like to swap into something a little more fun you’ll have time to do so!

Cocktail attire is typically described as a step above smart casual. Men can wear suits (tie optional) or a blazer with dress pants and a dress shirt. Women might choose a knee-length or midi dress, a jumpsuit, or a dressy top with nice pants.

Most importantly, we want you to feel good! No pressure, just wear whatever makes you comfortable and ready to celebrate with us… as long as it’s not a white dress. I fully reserve the right to spill red wine on anyone who decides to wear white to my wedding :)

What will the weather be like?

In Dauphin County, early October typically brings comfortable fall weather. Average high temperatures are around 65°, with lows near 45°. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap, especially for the evening hours. Of course, Pennsylvania weather can be a little unpredictable, so please keep an eye on the forecast as the wedding weekend approaches, we’ll be celebrating rain or shine!

Will there be parking available?

Yes! There is ample parking at Trinity Lutheran Church and The Peter Allen House. Venue staff will be available to assist with parking and directions. For those staying overnight, our selected hotel also offers plenty of complimentary parking for guests. (The groom is very particular about parking, so rest assured, we’ve made absolutely sure it’s easy and stress-free!)

Will there be shuttle services?

Yes, we will provide shuttle services to and from the venue for your convenience.

How will shuttle transportation work?

We’re happy to provide complimentary shuttle service between the Penn Harris Hotel and The Peter Allen House so guests can relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about driving. The shuttle will not run to the ceremony, as most guests will drive directly to Trinity Lutheran Church. After the ceremony, you can return to the hotel to check in, freshen up, or enjoy a snack and drink before the reception begins. Please check the travel section of our website for a shuttle schedule. We recommend arriving in the lobby a few minutes before your preferred shuttle time to ensure a smooth ride over.

Do I need to be staying at the hotel to use the shuttle, and how do I let you know if I’ll be using it?

Nope! The shuttle from the hotel to the venue is available to all guests, regardless of where you’re staying. Just indicate on your RSVP if you’ll be using it so we can estimate how much room we’ll need. If you’re unsure, go ahead and check “yes” we’d rather have extra room than not enough!

Are children allowed at the ceremony?

Yes! Children are more than welcome to join us for the ceremony! We kindly suggest that families with little ones who might get a bit rowdy sit toward the back, so it’s easier to step out to the nursery if needed. (Trust me, my mom had to do this with me when I was a kid, so if your child makes noise, it's just my karma!)

Are children allowed at the reception?

While we love your little ones, our reception will be an adults-only celebration unless otherwise specified by the bride or groom. We’ve only invited children who are flying in from out of town. That being said, children are welcome to attend the ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church so they can share in this special moment with us. We truly appreciate your understanding as we keep the evening intimate and relaxed for our guests. If your child has been included on the invitation, you’ll see their name(s) listed. Thank you so much for respecting our wishes, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Will there be a meal provided?

Yes! There will be appetizers and refreshments during cocktail hour, followed by a plated dinner during the reception. Guests will have the choice between: Salmon with macaroni and cheese and green beans or Beef roast with mashed potatoes and carrots. Please specify your meal selection on your RSVP card or online invitation. We also kindly ask that you let us know if you have any other allergies or dietary restrictions, so we can make sure you’re accommodated.

Will there be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?

Yes! We want all of our guests to feel comfortable and well-fed, so we’re making sure there are options available for anyone with dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. If you have any dietary needs or allergies, please let us know when you RSVP so we can ensure there’s plenty available for you!

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We’ll have a fully open bar available for all guests to enjoy throughout the evening. The couple will be taking care of gratuities for the bartending staff, but if you choose to leave a little extra, there will be an option for cash tips at the bar. Be sure to keep an eye out for our signature cocktails, each one lovingly named after our pets! A fun personal touch we can’t wait to share with you!

Will there be Wifi at the Venue?

The reception venue does not have guest Wi-Fi. However, the hotel, the ceremony location, and even the shuttle will all have Wi-Fi available. If you plan to use Uber, Lyft, or another ride service, we recommend arranging it in advance or while you’re at one of those locations. Once you arrive at the reception, just relax, unplug, and celebrate with us!

Can I take photos during the ceremony and reception?

Yes, you're welcome to take photos during both the ceremony and reception. We just ask that you be mindful of our professional photographer and videographer, ensuring they have a clear path to capture our special moments. Thank you for your consideration!

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Yes! We’d love for you to use #ToHaveAndToBechtold when posting your photos and videos from the day. That way, we can relive all the memories through your eyes too!

Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to space limitations, we’re only able to accommodate plus-ones for those who received an invitation with a guest included. However, we totally get that it can be uncomfortable to attend a wedding solo, especially if you don’t know many people. If this is the case, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We would much rather have you there and will do our best to make you feel comfortable and included!

Please note: if you are married or in a committed relationship, your partner is a guest, not a plus one. They should already be accounted for on the RSVP. Please contact us if something on your invitation looks incorrect.

Will there be dancing?

Yes, absolutely! We have a dance floor ready and waiting for you to show off your best moves. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

What time does the reception end?

Our reception will conclude around 10:00 PM. We hope you'll dance the night away with us until then!

Are there local attractions or activities nearby?

Yes! We've dedicated a page on our wedding website to highlight local attractions and activities you might enjoy during your stay. Feel free to check it out for recommendations on dining, sightseeing, and more!

Is there a wedding registry?

Yes, we have a registry at Amazon. You can find the details on our registry page linked down below. We also have a section on our website dedicated to the registry.
