Reception Shuttles
Shuttles will be provided to take guests from the Penn Harris Hotel to the Peter Allen House and back. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about transportation. The shuttle will not run to the ceremony, as most guests will drive directly to Trinity Lutheran Church. After the ceremony, you can return to the hotel to check in, freshen up, or enjoy a snack and drink before the reception begins.
Shuttle Schedule:
We recommend arriving in the lobby a few minutes before your preferred shuttle time to ensure a smooth ride over. Reception begins at 5:00 PM, please plan accordingly!
From the hotel to The Peter Allen House:
First departure: 4:30 PM
Second departure: 5:00 PM
Return trips back to the hotel:
First departure: 9:30 PM
Final departure: 10:00 PM

Philadelphia International Airport
If you're flying in from out of state, you may want to consider flying into Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), which is just about 1 hour 45 minutes away from Harrisburg by car. There are many direct flight options to and from Philadelphia, so it could be a convenient choice for some of our guests.
Once you arrive in Philadelphia, there are several ways to get to Harrisburg:
Car Rental:
Renting a car at Philadelphia International Airport is a great option if you prefer flexibility and want to explore the area on your own. There are multiple rental car agencies at the airport with cars available for pick-up.
Taxis and Ride-Sharing:
Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available at the airport. A taxi ride to Harrisburg will typically cost between $150 and $200, depending on traffic and route. Ride-sharing services may be slightly cheaper, but the price can vary depending on demand at the time.
Private Shuttle Services:
Some shuttle companies operate between Philadelphia International Airport and Harrisburg. While this option may need to be reserved ahead of time, it can be a comfortable choice for those traveling in groups or with a lot of luggage.
By Train:
Amtrak offers a convenient train route from Philadelphia to Harrisburg, which can be an excellent alternative if a direct flight isn’t available from your city. The train ride from Philadelphia to Harrisburg takes about 1.5 hours and offers a scenic and comfortable ride. If you’re coming from New York City or other major cities, Amtrak can connect you to Harrisburg as well.
Important Note:
The train station in Harrisburg is located in a busy area, so while it's generally safe, we recommend being cautious when traveling through the station, especially if you're arriving late. We had a few colorful encounters when I visited recently (let's just say, there are a few "interesting" characters hanging around, unfortunately). Be sure to have your ride arranged ahead of time to avoid any uncomfortable situations and make your way to the hotel or venue smoothly.

While the Penn Harris offers convenient proximity to our ceremony venue, we understand that some guests may prefer lodging options further outside the city. There are several hotels located near major highways such as Interstate 81 (I-81) and U.S. Route 15 (US-15), which provide easy access to Harrisburg.
Please note that if you choose to stay at one of these locations, you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the ceremony and reception.
