Gateway to Kluane! Haines Junction is a stunning community 90 minutes west of Whitehorse and is the traditional territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nation. It is home to Kluane National Park, which contains the highest mountain in Canada, Mt. Logan. Kluane together with the adjacent Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park (BC), Wrangell-St.Elias National Park (Alaska) and Glacier Bay National Park (Alaska) comprise a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Beautiful building that offers a great introduction to the park and the Champagne-Aishihik First Nation. A perfect introduction to the area.
Nice, flat 6km trail along the Dezadeash River with great views of the Kluane front range and informative plaques.
More challenging hike with stunning views of Kathleen Lake and the surrounding mountains. The full length is 15km, however many folks stop at the 'seat' about half way up.
Nice, short hike that overlooks Dezadeash Lake with informational plaques and unique rock formations.
One of Caitlin's favourites! 8km out-and-back that ends in a beautiful mountain lake surrounded by fields and flowers.
This trail is a longer day hike, 15km, but with minimal incline. An optional extension will bring you up into the alpine.
