Lane and I meet in 2022 at college, while hanging out with mutual friends. At the time, I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but little did I know, my best friend was right in front of me. Our connection took some time to develop, and as we spent more time together, I realized just how special he was.
Despite the distance between us during the summers when I would go home, our bond only grew stronger. Now, even though we’re six hours apart while attending different colleges, we’ve learned that distance makes the heart grow fonder. Every day, we continue to support and encourage each other, no matter how far apart we are.
Throughout our time together, we’ve shared so many unforgettable experiences- four concerts, tagging calves, and a few trips back to Michigan to visit my family. But the most unforgettable moment came when he proposed in front of The Canadian Lake Castle during a double date with my best friend. It was perfect - romantic, meaningful, and completely us.
What I love most about Lane is his caring nature and sense of humor. He is always there to lift me up, whether it’s through his encouragement or simply being my shoulder to cry on. I truly can’t imagine my life without him by my side. Together, we’ve created something incredible, and I’m so excited to continue building our lives together.
We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you and take the next step in this amazing journey!
Callie and I started hanging out with some mutual friends during our time at Northwest College. At the time, I was a nervous and awkward college freshman that was just trying to find some pals. Little did I know that I would meet my future wife. After a few card games, movie nights and rodeo watch parties, Callie and I grew closer and closer.
We’ve made it through 4 concerts, 3 horse shows, a couple hundred calves tagged, and a spun out Chevy in the ditch full of snow and slush (totally my fault 😂😂). In Wyoming, it’s a proven fact that a relationship is strong when you can work cows together and not hate each other at the end of the day. Given that we’ve made it through that test, I’d say I’m pretty stoked to spend the rest of my life with her.
Being separated by 378 miles of Wyoming blacktop can be challenging, but it has built our relationship into what it is today, as Callie finishes her equine sciences degrees in Powell and I continue my education in Laramie. Nonetheless, Callie's positive attitude, amazing sense of humor, and warming affection makes me fall for her day after day. Through the good and the bad, she has kept me in line, pushed me, and supported me throughout all of my endeavors.
We are thrilled to have all y'all celebrate our big day with us as we take the next huge step towards the rest of our lives.
