Our Wedding

Although they lived across the street from each other for almost two years, it was not until the summer of 2020 when a worldwide pandemic brought Evan and Caroline together. With nothing to do and nowhere to go, they both would sit outside on their front lawns every day reading books. And thus, unbeknownst to them at the time, they were each given the same nickname; that cute girl across the street became “Book Girl,” and the handsome guy “Book Boy.” Soon enough, both houses started hanging out, and the connection between Book Boy and Book Girl grew, officially dating a few weeks later.&nbsp; However, at the end of the summer, Evan returned home to Cincinnati to start working while Caroline stayed in Columbus to complete her Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology at Ohio State. Even though they had only been seeing each other for a couple of months, they both knew there was something special between them, and agreed to give long distance dating a try. For the next two years, every other week they would rotate one coming up to Columbus and the other going down to Cincinnati. It was not easy, but it is true that distance makes the heart grow fonder, with each visit being more anticipated than the last.&nbsp; Thankfully, after two long years, Caroline finished her Master’s program and received her dream job offer at a rehabilitation hospital in Cincinnati. After a year in her own apartment, Evan and Caroline moved in together, and in October 2024 on their first trip to Europe together, Evan proposed in Greece along the Aegean sea, with the sun setting in the background. After two years of long distance and nearly five years together, Evan and Caroline are thrilled to finally get married in front of all of their dearest friends and family.&nbsp;

After an immediate connection in middle school dance class, Angel and Caroline have been inseparable ever since. When reflecting on their friendship, Caroline can confidently say that Angel has been the one true constant in her life for nearly thirteen years. Angel is witty, generous, and loyal to the people she loves. She currently resides in Mt. Adams in Cincinnati, and works in corporate banking for PNC Bank. Caroline recently served as Angel's Maid of Honor in her wedding, and could not be more excited for Angel to move into this role and stand by her side in October.

As neighbors in their freshman dorm, Sara and Caroline bonded over their love of Taylor Swift, Grey's Anatomy, and Friday fashion shows. Sara is the voice of reason in the roommate friend group, showing empathy and discernment in every situation. These skills serve her well in her role as a pediatric travel nurse in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit. She is currently completing a contract at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and will be traveling from Charleston, SC to the wedding.

Although Kristin did not live in the same freshman dorm as the rest of the roommate gang, she became fast friends through multiple connections and was spending all weekend at Park-Stradley Hall. Sophomore year, Kristin moved in with the rest of the crew and shared a room with Caroline, where there were many late night chats and early morning hangovers. Kristin is known for being compassionate, hilarious, and at times an easy target for pranks. She currently works as a civil engineer in Washington, DC.

Living across the hall from one another freshman year allowed Grace and Caroline to bond easily, particularly over their time in a service organization known as College Mentors for Kids. Grace is known for her love of dogs, Cleveland sports, and finding deals when shopping. She is passionate, hard working, and full of energy. Grace is currently completing her residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Murphy will be joining us from Nashville, Tennessee.

Marisa and Caroline met when they were roommates freshman year of college, and after sharing a 400 square foot space, it is safe to say they became close and never looked back. Marisa is the life of the party and was the perfect compliment to Caroline's more reserved side. Marisa's closet is as big as her heart, allowing her to make fast friends with everyone she meets. Marisa currently resides in Chicago, where she works for Abbott as a Field Clinical Specialist on the Neuromodulation Team.

Introduced through Grace, Geoffrey and Caroline became fast friends their freshman year, engaging in frequent dance parties and Long Island Thursdays. Geoffrey is silly, kind, and has the best dance moves. He is free-spirited and always down for a good time, the epitome of a girl’s guy. He will be joining the bridal party in the important role of bridesman. Geoffrey currently resides in Columbus, Ohio and works as a software engineer at Vargo.

After transferring to Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy his freshman year, Zach and Evan met in their jazz band class where they came to the mutual agreement that Abbey Road is the best Beatles album. Zach is knowledgeable about all things music, movies, and comic books. He is always down for a phone chat about everything and nothing, able to hold a conversation with just about anybody. Zach currently works as an actuarial analyst in Atlanta, Georgia.

Although Evan and Phil have known each other since elementary school, they really bonded in middle school when they both began taking guitar lessons at Buddy Roger’s Music. As the only groomsman currently residing in Cincinnati, Evan and Phil hangout regularly at local breweries and exploring new restaurants. Phil is witty and hard working, recently joining UBS as a senior wealth strategy associate.

Jack is a long-time friend since elementary school, where he and Evan played in the jazz band together. Later in life, they were college roommates, where he was a first hand witness to Caroline and Evan’s budding relationship. Jack is intelligent, laid back, and most likely to have a broken shoulder at any given time. Jack is currently completing his residency in pediatric internal medicine at Case Western Reserve Hospital. Dr. Reifenberg will be joining the wedding party from Cleveland, Ohio.

Josh and Evan have known each other since elementary school, where they played numerous sports together; they are best known for their achievements as co-captains and tournament champions in the C level Ultimate Frisbee team. They worked together as radio show hosts in college, further highlighting their chemistry both on the field and off. He takes his role as the punching bag of the friend group in stride. Josh is currently completing his residency in radiology at Rush University. Dr. Debo will be traveling from Chicago for the wedding.

Noah and Evan became close after being paired up for a group project in school, where they had to create a civilization and film a video depicting their new society. Afterwards, Noah’s basement became the hangout spot amongst the friend group; many game days, late night chats, and YouTube deep dives occurred on the sunken couch of the Gardner’s basement. Noah is genuine and honest, known for his menacing methods of questioning new girlfriends of the friend group as part of their informal initiation. Noah is currently residing in Chicago, where he works as an actuarial consultant for Milliman.

There is a multi-day concert and boating event, River Roots, happening in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky the weekend of our wedding. Unfortunately, all of the hotels within walking distance of the venue are fully booked or are quoting astronomical prices for a room block. If you are traveling from out of town for the wedding, we highly encourage you to look into an AirBnB! You can search "Newport, Kentucky" or "Covington, Kentucky" and there are multiple options near the venue. We apologize for this inconvenience but are happy to help with finding lodging if you are traveling! For all guests, please be aware that with this festival there will be traffic and road closures. We encourage you to take this into consideration when planning your arrival to the venue and allow for extra time. Thank you!
