On the evening of February 15th, 2020, Matt Orr attended the IU Barristers Ball in Indianapolis. He was introduced to Carolyn Wilmes by mutual friends. Matt and Carolyn started to conversate, which unfolded into a night filled with laughter, shared stories, and dancing. Matt and Carolyn exchanged phone numbers at the end of the night. Little did they know, this meeting marked the beginning of a beautiful connection that would develop over time.

It took Matt four months to convince Carolyn to go on their first date at Urban Vines (a local winery) on June 11, 2020. They continued dating for the following years; traveling, meeting friends and family, and got engaged on January 20th ,2023 in Carolyn’s condo.
