﻿Invisible String Theory Meet Cute A Colorado gal and an Adirondack guy fallin' in love and getting married. They had a lot of chances to meet and finally figured it out. If they're being a little crazy about the invisible string theory, there is a decent chance Casey saw Joe play rugby in college when Syracuse played Colgate. There is also a chance Joe saw the Colgate Volleyball team wandering around Lake Placid on a preseason bonding trip. The actual love story starts with a couple of Tinder dates while quarantine was opening up in 2020. Both having lost some social skills during Covid, the dates didn't go that well and they stopped talking. Joe did occasionally continue to check out Casey's instagram, just to see what super cool things she was up to. More than a year later, Casey walked into the Irish Rover pub to dance with her beach volleyball gals after a tournament, and Joe spotted her across the way. Joe being out after 8pm is a rare event in and of itself, but out after 8pm on a day where he did a sprint triathlon and played an Aussie rules footie match is absolutely unheard of. Joe shouted "Casey!" and went for a hug. Casey did not recognize him and thought he was a random volleyball person. She was nice but went back to her friends. The next morning, she woke up with a lightbulb moment of who that strange man was, and texted him an apology for being rude. He asked her out on a date the following week, and they've been together ever since. The Proposal Perhaps doing major life events out of order, Joe and Casey bought their first house in Sterling Ranch, Colorado in February 2025. Their favorite place, and the reason they bought this particular house, is their awesome backyard which backs up to an open space wildlife corridor. In the months after moving in, Joe and Casey started taking great pride in maintaining the wildlife area, picking up trash and spreading native wildflower seeds. On July 3rd, Joe convinced Casey to do a trash pick up in anticipation of watching fireworks from the patio the next day. Not suspecting a thing, Casey threw on an ugly set of workout clothes, a pair of rain boots, no make up, grabbed the gardening gloves and trash bag and got to work. Joe started talking about how much he loved giving back to the community with her, got down on one knee, and proposed. Casey said yes, of course. They have planted a Blue Spruce tree in the spot of the proposal as Casey's "something blue" where they'll be able to see it from the back patio for years to come. Keep an eye out for a sprig to make it into her bouquet!

Located on the grounds of the historic Stanley Hotel, come kick off the weekend and get used to the altitude with drinks, light appetizers, and desserts. Friday, October 23rd 9am- Early Bedtime Bunch Wedding Day 5K Workout- Starting Location Near Lake Estes. Tell Joe if you'd like to participate!-2:30-3pm- Buses to the venue will depart from several locations around Estes Park. Please check back for exact locations and times.3pm- Guests may start arriving to venue. Enjoy a glass of champagne as watercolor artists paint your outfits as you wait for the ceremony to start.4pm- Ceremony begins5pm- Cocktail Hour &amp; hors d'oeuvres6pm- Dinner &amp; Reception8pm- Early Bedtime Bus departs10pm- Final guest bus departs venueAfter Party @ The Wheel Bar Saturday, October 24th - 10am-12pm Optional Celebration Brunch at The Estes Park Resort.

Wedding Activities 

Semi-formal, being aware of the mountain weather, as the venue is at 8296 feet of elevation. While you might be tempted to break out the shorter cocktail dresses, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Long dresses and warm jackets will be a better option even with fire pits and heaters available.-Dinner and the reception will take place inside, so if you plan to heat up the dance floor, be ready to shed some layers.-Ties optional for men, but jackets are required. No specific recommendation for ladies footwear, as we will not be on grass.-Completely optional, but if you would like to lean into the color scheme for the wedding, we'd love you to wear autumn jewel tones and metallics.-Please avoid white, ivory, champage or silver.

Travel

Rocky Mountain National Park One of the most beautiful places in Colorado, we highly recommend spending some time in Rocky Mountain National Park. Notable wildlife include elk, moose, bears, big horn sheep, wolves, and more. Elk rutting season should be nearly over in late October, but please make sure you give all wildlife plenty of distance. We'd like the wedding to be the talk of the weekend, not someone getting charged by a bull elk. Outdoor Activities While not organized directly through the wedding, there are fishing trips, ATVs, photography tours, guided hikes, etc. available. If you are interested in getting a group activity together, please let Casey and Joe know and we are happy to see who else is interested in going along.

Hauntings at the Stanley Hotel Check out the historic Stanley Hotel which gave Steven King such terrible nightmares, it inspired the Shining.&nbsp;The hotel often hosts paranormal story telling, tours, and special events.
