Wedding FAQ
Q: When and where is the wedding taking place?
A: The wedding will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025 at BrookLodge & Macreddin Village in County Wicklow, Ireland. The ceremony and reception details can be found on the Home and Travel pages of the wedding website.
Q: What’s the best way to get to Ireland from the US?
A: For non-Irish guests, we recommend flying into Dublin/Shannon. From there, you can rent a car, take a train, or contact one of the provided taxi services on the Travel page of the wedding website to reach the wedding location.
Q: Do I need a passport or visa to travel to Ireland?
A: US citizens need a valid passport to enter Ireland, but no visa is required for stays under 90 days. Be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
Q: Where should I stay?
A: We’ve reserved room blocks and listed recommended hotels, B&Bs, and nearby rentals on our Travel page. Please contact BrookLodge & Macreddin Village directly for booking and for best rates available.
Q: Will transportation be provided to the venue?
A: No group transportation will be provided for arrival to the venue. Please visit the Travel page on the wedding website to review suggestions for reaching the venue and accommodation.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: The dress code on the main page says "formal" here's our explanation: Weddings in Ireland tend to be a bit more dressed up than the American standard, so guests from the U.S.—think suits and elegant dresses! Ladies, hats and fascinator clips are absolutely welcome.
And for our Irish crew—no surprises here, you already know the drill!
Please keep in mind that Irish weather can be unpredictable, so bring a layer and umbrella just in case! There is outdoor access during the wedding and reception, but no events will be held exclusively outdoors.
Q: What will the weather be like?
A: In late October, expect mild to cool temperatures and the possibility of rain. We recommend bringing a light jacket, umbrella, and comfortable shoes.
Q: Can I bring a plus one?
A: Please refer to your invitation or RSVP page to confirm if a plus one has been included.
Q: Are kids invited?
A: No, children are not invited. While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, let loose, and enjoy the evening!
Q: What are some things to do while we’re in Ireland?
A: We’ve included a list of local attractions, pubs, and sights to see on our Things to Do page. Whether it’s exploring national parks, taking a scenic drive, or enjoying a pint, there’s something for everyone.
Q: What is the local currency, and do I need to exchange money?
A: Ireland uses the Euro (€). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but it’s a good idea to have a small amount of cash for taxis or smaller shops. For Americans traveling, please remember that tipping is not expected in routine service scenarios in Ireland.
Q: Who can I contact if I have questions while traveling?
A: Feel free to reach out to Front Desk at BrookLodge & Macreddin Village. Phone number: +353 (0) 402 36444.
Q: Is BrookLodge & Macreddin Village wheelchair accessible?
A: Both BrookLodge and BrookHall are fully wheelchair accessible with access and bedrooms available in both buildings. There is also a sloped gravel path leading to Macreddin Chapel and a golf buggy on hand should a guest require help getting around the village during your celebrations.
