Our Story

It all started on the night of December 15, 2018. Celine was back for Christmas break and Kepler was recently graduated, living in Tacoma. They both happened to go out to Steel Creek Bar and Celine immediately noticed Kepler and thought he was cute. Coincidentally, one of the friends Celine was out with, knew Kepler through playing soccer at the same club. The two were introduced for the first time. Fast forward to the next day, Kepler asked for Celine's number, then 6 days later, the pair went on their first date which involved Zoolights, ice skating, and Farrelli's Pizza. Prior to Celine heading back to Gonzaga, they had 2 more dates at Spunky Monkey Bar and Dave &amp; Busters. During the next year, Celine was in Spokane finishing up her bachelor's degree, but the two remained friends. After graduating in December 2019, Celine moved up to North Seattle and Kepler bought his first home in Kent. After a couple of attempts to make a relationship work, they decided that the timing wasn't right and it was best to stay friends. Twelve hours later, Kepler dropped off flowers and a card in hopes that the two could try to make it work one last time; Celine agreed. The pair dated for a couple of months then on October 1st, 2022, the two planned a weekend trip to Richmond, B.C to go to the Richmond Night Market. After a night of arcade games and tasty asian food, Kepler asked Celine to be his girlfriend officially, and she said YES! Since then, the couple have enjoyed time together going to Mariners games, visiting national parks, eating out at their favorite restaurants in Seattle, and spending time in their home away from home, Lincoln City. They also enjoy spending time with their favorite dogs, Champ, Bolt, and Nora. Fast forward to December 13th weekend, 2024, almost 6 years from the day the couple first met, Kepler, Celine and Chaz (the bride's brother) booked a weekend getaway to Lake Crescent Lodge at Olympic National Park. At the "last minute", Chaz was unable to make the trip though this was always part of the plan. On that Saturday, Kepler proposed to Celine in the pouring rain on the dock of the lodge, and she said YES!

The Details

For out-of-town guests wanting to stay in a hotel, we have a few suggestions: 1) The first option is Hotel Murano Tacoma. This hotel is about a 30-minute drive from Sea-Tac International Airport, an 8-minute drive from our ceremony and a 25-minute drive from our reception. Please note that Tacoma is a more lively city with more to do compared to Puyallup. Use the promo code WED10 when booking online for a discount. 2) The second option is Fairfield Inn &amp; Suites in Puyallup. This hotel is about a 30-minute drive from Sea-Tac International Airport, a 25-minute drive from our ceremony and an 8-minute drive from our reception. 3) The third option is Silver Cloud Hotel Tacoma at Point Ruston Waterfront. This hotel is about a 35-minute drive from Sea-Tac International Airport, a 5-minute drive from our ceremony and a 30-minute drive from our reception. It is a more expensive option, but it's a beautiful hotel located right on the Puget Sound. There are also several Airbnb options available in both the Tacoma and Puyallup area, if a house is more preferred. We would recommend staying in the North End of Tacoma. PLEASE NOTE: FIFA World Cup 2026 may affect room rates. We advise reserving rooms sooner rather than later to ensure favorable rates.

THINGS TO DO IN TACOMA:

1) Point Defiance Park &amp; Zoo: Visit the Point Defiance Zoo &amp; Aquarium, walk the Rose Garden, or hike on some of the trails. 2) Ruston Way Waterfront: Rent bikes, eat at waterfront restaurants, explore the waterwalk, shop, or visit the beach! 3) Museum District: Explore the Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, or LeMay - America's Car Museum.

THINGS TO DO IN SEATTLE:

1. A Day at Pike Place and the Waterfront! Don’t forget all the small cute shops in Post Alley and the gum wall. The Waterfront has a lot of fun shops, restaurants and a ferris wheel and is located right below Pike Place. 2. Visit these skyline view spots: Kerry Park or Gasworks Park. 3. Do a guided tour of Pioneer Square (Seattle’s original downtown). 4. Visit the Space Needle and go to the top! Other options that are a bit more pricey: Take a ferry to one of the local islands to explore (San Juans, Vashon, Bainbridge, etc.) or take a Guided Harbor Cruise leaving from of one of the piers. Here are some fun things to do outside the Seattle-area:1. Visit our national parks: Mt. Rainier or the Olympics! Any food cravings or questions? Let us know!
