If you're arriving early, we're coordinating a few activities on Thursday and Friday to help folks mingle and explore the city. You can use this form to RSVP for these events.
We will be hosting a mehndi night on Thursday from 5:30 PM - 9 PM at The Clay Studio (Address: 1425 N American St, Philadelphia, PA 19122). Dinner will be available in the form of kati rolls, and 2 mehndi artists will be on-site. Some of our friends are working on a group trivia quiz; should be a fun and casual way to get to know Yuvaram and Chetan's community! Please RSVP to attend.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 9, 2024
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Various spots around the city
Some of our friends and family will be coordinating meet ups at the Philadelphia Art Museum and the Franklin Institute, starting in the late morning (10 AM - Franklin Institute; 11 AM - Art Museum). Please RSVP if you'd like to join.
The 'things to do' portion of the website has other ideas if that time/place doesn't work for you (e.g., hikes, the magic gardens, museum tours, etc).
FRIDAY, AUGUST 9, 2024
5:00 PM–7:00 PM
Courtyard Marriot and Tavola Restaurant + Bar
400 West Sproul Road, Springfield, PA, 19064, United States
Attire: Casual; Theme: Playful
We're having a 'room block party' at the on-site hotel! What is a room block party, you ask? Well, stop by and you'll see! We're asking some family and friends to transform their hotel rooms into themed rooms for different activities.
These activities might include rooms for guests to make their own mason-jar terrariums for the reception (and to take home), rooms for guests to practice the garba/raas dance before the wedding, rooms for guests to try on/borrow Indian clothes for the wedding (btw, it's totally fine if people choose to wear non-Indian clothes!), and rooms for people to play board games or other party games.
During the room block party, we will also have an informal pizza party / meet & greet at the on-site restaurant (Tavola). Pizza and light appetizers will be served from 5 PM - 7 PM ET, and there will also be a cash bar nearby. If you're looking for a fuller meal, we can also recommend a number of really highly rated restaurants in Philly that you could try instead (like Laserwolf, Vedge, Amma's, Grandma's Thai, Kalaya, the Love, and tons more)
The dress code for the Friday evening events is casual, with a theme of “playful”. For example, an animal-themed or bright-colored shirt, a casual indian outfit with a fun pattern, a costume accessory (e.g., fun hat) or even a full costume!
