Will there be shade?

The bride and groom are not providing shade. This is a toes in the sand beach ceremony. The Weather is expected to be a very breezy 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. At a max (unless you are member of the wedding party) you will be outside without shade for 45-60 minutes.

We STRONGLY advise that you bring sunglasses and if you feel warm easily, a small hand held fan.

If you feel you would like to bring a parasol or hand-held umbrella to shield you from the sun, you will need to sit in the back row or stand behind the back row of seating, not blocking the aisle, obstructing the view of our loved ones, or being in the way of our lovely photographer/videographers.

If you are concerned about sweat, please feel free to plan accordingly to change between the ceremony and the reception. The dress code remains the same.

Do I need to pick a side?

No sides! You are loved by both the groom and the bride. Please just pick a non reserved seat anywhere. We are just so thankful you will be there.

What to bring?

Sunglasses!! We want you to be able to see the special day.

Hair clip/tie or hair done up. Again, it'll be breezy and for those with longer hair you may want a hair clip or tie if your hair is styled down.

A small handheld fan if you feel you may be warm, but it'll be about 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit and windy.

Water bottle. We will provide some waters however, we will may not be able to have enough for everyone.

Tissues. Don't worry the bride is a crier too.

REMEMBER, LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS. Whatever you bring to drink or if you bring a fan or make any other trash, take it with you. Florida's beaches and oceans are beautiful but are also home to sensitive wildlife including sea turtles, dolphins, many birds and so much more. This particular beach is also home to a reef. It is very important to us that our wedding does not harm the natural habitat.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

In Florida, we joke that we should ask when it will rain, not if it will rain and though we hope with all our might it will not rain, there is no way to know or control it. So, we must plan.

We will shift our wedding time slightly to accommodate a quick shower or a morning shower that delays set-up. The max we will shift is approximately one hour forward (a 2:30 p.m. CT start). After that, we will move indoors to our reception venue.

If there is a LIGHT drizzle that won't be getting worse we will proceed outdoors. In this case, we recommend clear umbrellas or ponchos if you would like to remain fully dry. We of course won't proceed outdoors if it is truly going to soak everyone. Please know we have spoken with many vendors and other couples who have had beach or other outdoor weddings and this is the industry standard practice.

There are also packs/sets available from many vendors if you want to get a group or family purchase together. Please note two people can fit under an umbrella if planning to share. We will have a supply for the wedding party.
