Fort Pickens is one of four military forts designed to protect Pensacola in the 1800s. Located on Pensacola Beach on the Gulf Islands National Seashore, Fort Pickens is accessible by foot and boat and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

Since 1955, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels have called Pensacola home.
The National Naval Aviation Museum opens the flight line behind the museum to view Blue Angels practice flight demonstrations. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and the Blues are scheduled to take to the skies at 10:30 a.m. Arrive EARLY, once the Museum parking lot has been filled, NAS Pensacola will pause entry to the base. Practice schedule for 2025 not provided yet.
