Our Story

It was still dark out back in 2017 when Chris set off at 5:30 am on a lonely trail aiming to reach the top of the mountain by noon. Suddenly he noticed an intrepid brunette setting out on the same trail, and ripping open the exact same power bar he was eating. Their eyes locked. Each took a step forward when she tripped over a branch and fell into Chris' arms and then.....

Haha had you for a minute, didn't we?!

We did not meet climbing the Himalayas, saving seals, on a blind date, or in any other epic way one might dream up.

We met on Bumble.

And on OK Cupid. Ask us for the "true" story, there are hers and his versions.

What happened in late January of 2017 was that we caught a lucky moment when the power of fate, or of AI, brought us together. We started a simple chat after both swiping right, about family, friends, food, wine, music, running, skiing, cycling, traveling, cooking... all of our life passions. Now here's the clincher: we chatted like this online for not 1.. not 2... but for 4 months, due to Chris' work schedule, Heather's ski trips, and then a terrible cough Heather caught which was not a great thing to have on a first date!

Around the end of April, Chris was started to have some serious doubts: was this woman for real or was she messing around?! Was she actually AI?! But before losing faith entirely, he made the move, said Chris: "hey, so would you like to like... get together?" To which Heather said, having sufficiently dispelled of the lurgy, "yes please"! Chris made the reservation at Raines Law Room at the William Hotel. And true to form, Heather arrived 25 minutes late.

The rest is kind of history, within two months we were already on a honeymoon-ish trip to San Sebastien and within 6 months, Heather set sail from Brooklyn with coffers of clothing and wares to move into Chris' place on the UWS, where we live now.

The most incredible part of our coming together is an exponential thing, bringing our worlds together - when our three kids met, they got along right away, and this has been the same bringing together our friends and our families.

We could not be happier to be spending this incredible day with all of you and our only ask is that you stick with us through the remaining years we have together, continuing to live life to its fullest and making as many incredible memories as we can together!
