Best known as the inspiration for the movie The Shining, it is the oldest hotel in the park rich with history. Go on the day tour or the nightly ghost tours, eat at either of their beautiful restaurants, or simply walk through the main floor yourself where you can buy chocolate or whiskey from their shops. They also have a wine bar in the evenings.
Walk the Riverwalk to visit all the local shops where there are plenty of sweets and wines to be bought, and local art and decor to enjoy.
The recommended hike if you only have time for one! Not as busy/travelled as the more popular Gem Lake Trail head, and has even better views from the top. Approximately 4.8 mile hike in total.
Estes Park's token 14,000ft "hike". For advanced hikers only as it is a keyhole route, meaning this trail requires advanced skills in rock climbing. Would only recommend to those who frequently mountain climb.
