Colette & Patrick

Once upon a time

Like all modern fairytales, their relationship began on Hinge-the app meant to be deleted.

Patrick grew up as a quintessential Southern California boy. In 2007 he migrated to the Midwest to play football at Northwestern.

Colette grew up in Carmel, Indiana, a large Indianapolis suburb that feels straight out of a Hallmark movie. As a 3rd generation Hoosier, she stayed close to her family and attended Indiana University for both undergrad and medical school.

The two met in the summer of 2020. Colette was about to begin her last year of medical school while Pat was going into his second year at Simon Property Group based in Indianapolis.

For their first date, they went to the Carmel Sun King, a local brewery and food hall. Sparks flew immediately, with a lot of laughing and storytelling for over three hours. They kept thinking of more activities to add on so the date would never end. Each date after that got better and better.

Even though Colette had lived in Indianapolis for the majority of her life, Pat made it a personal challenge for every date to be a new experience for the both of them. He took her to new places and they shared wonderful experiences filled with delicious food, fancy cocktails, & ample laughs at some of the citys most beautiful (and trendy) places.

They bonded over their mutual love for nature, traveling, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and their shared work hard, play hard mentality. Most of all, the two took amazing care of each other and supported their high stakes careers.

As the spring of 2021 approached, Colette was unsure where the residency match was going to send her for the next 4-5 years. They had reached a pivotal point in their relationship and neither wanted to be without the other, but Colette was not in control of where she would end up. The two discussed places they could both see themselves living, and Nashville just happened to be at the top of both of their lists.

Match day came and, as luck would have it, Colette got her top choice! The anesthesia residency program at Vanderbilt Hospital. To the two of them, it felt like a wink from God because most of Pats commercial real-estate properties were in Tennessee where he spent the majority of his time travelling.

Colette made the move to Nashville in Summer 2021 and Pat was not far behind. The two just couldnt be apart. For an entire year, Pat made weekend trips down to Nashville 2-3 times a month. In the spring of 2022, Pat got approval from his job to move to Nashville.

Pat proposed to Colette with the help of Natalie (Colettes sister) at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Colette had been awake for the past 36 hours because she hopped on a flight straight after working a 24 hour shift. The two spent the early part of the day exploring Pats old stomping grounds at Northwestern- in another fateful turn of events, they were forced to stay in his old college town because of the Taylor Swift concert happening downtown that weekend.

At the end of a very exhausting 36 hours, Natalie convinced Colette to meet her at the nearby Chicago Botanic Gardens to take her graduation photos. As the photographer of the family, Colette happily agreed to help with no clue of what was in store.

As the shoot came to a close, Pat dropped to one knee and asked Colette to marry him in Colettes favorite spot of the garden. She was completely taken by surprise (but luckily Pat and Natalie had conspired to make sure she was looking her best!)

After an enthusiastic YES!, the happy couple got to celebrate with family the rest of the weekend.

So how did these two Nashvillians end up choosing V. Sattui Winery? Patrick and Colette actually joined the winery as members with hopes of one day choosing it at a venue after visiting Napa in the fall of 2022! They stumbled upon the winery after a weekend spent hiking n Yosemite National Park. V. Sattui was their first stop on the road back into civilization and they were blown away by its charm, beauty and, most of all, excellent wine!

V. Sattui is an Italian, family-owned winery that appears to be straight out of a storybook fairytale. Olive tree groves, twinkling lights, rose gardens, and even playful vineyard kittens are abound in this picturesque property.

As one of the top wedding venues in the world, guests will have no shortage of amazing views and outstanding culinary experiences at their fingertips during their extended wedding/holiday weekend trip. Colette and Pat have many fun activities planned for their guests and are so grateful to share their favorite space with their closest family and friends!
