Libby and Colin met in the summer of 2017 in Ocean City, Maryland, USA. Both had come to Ocean City with friends to work and enjoy a summer by the beach. Little did they know their summer romance would turn into love and later marriage.

Libby's first Guinness! And first visit to Ireland where she met Colin's family and friends. Colin showed Ireland to Libby in a 1994 Classic Mini Cooper (which broke down at 8pm on New Years Eve on the way to Dingle). At this time Colin and Libby were not yet 'official', their focus was only on how they could next see each other.

With the help of Taylor and JP, Colin surprised Libby at her college graduation. This same week, they became officially Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Libby also applied for her visa to move to Ireland for a year.

Libby moved to Ireland to live and work for 1 year. And what a year it was! Colin and Libby rented a tiny (reaaaalllly tiny) room in the center of Dublin City and got to experience living together. Libby got a job waitressing in the Temple Bar District and Colin finished up his final year of college. Even though they were young and broke and truly 'living off love' they had the time of their lives! This was a really pivotal year for Libby (moving to Europe at 22 for a boy?? crazy). But they traveled as often as they could and had so much fun living in Dublin. But Libby's visa was only for 1 year so by July 2019, she had to leave Ireland and move home to Pittsburgh....

Back to living 3,000 miles apart, they just always tried to have the next time they would see each other planned....so how about an epic ski trip to the French Alps! It was such an incredible week and really made both of them fall in love with skiing (I mean its The Alps, how could you not?). At this time Colin was in the process of getting a 1 year work visa to the USA. They had everything planned and were so excited for Colin to finally get to live in Libby's home country. But little did they know just a few short weeks later COVID-19 would break and shut the entire world down....all visas to the US got cancelled just 2 days before his interview. They were devastated and had no idea when they would see each other next...

After 8 months of not seeing each other and Covid-19 still going strong, Colin entered the US on a temporary 90 day visa (after a 2 week quarantine in Mexico City). The amount of tears shed when they were finally back in each others arms after so much time of uncertainty is a feeling neither of them will ever forget. They spent 3 months in Pittsburgh and Colin got to meet all of Libby's friends. But 90 days goes by very quickly...

In April of 2021, Colin and Libby decided that they should just get married! They were so tired of being apart and knew that the visa process for marriage would take a long time so they decided to just submit the paperwork! Because they knew it was such a long process they decided to not tell anyone (except both families who were so supportive of them). And then they both quit their jobs and decided to go travel for as long as their money would last. So they booked a 1-way flight to Mexico and spent the next 6 months backpacking around Mexico and Guatemala. It was the MOST amazing trip that gave them so many incredible experiences (as well as a trip to the hospital, a couple injuries, and quite a few bouts of Montezuma's Revenge). That trip completely solidified their decision and they knew in their hearts they were meant to be together forever. After 6 months of traveling it was time to head back to Ireland.

Back in Ireland Libby could only stay for 90 days at a time. So she went and traveled solo for a bit before she came back for another 90 days. They enjoyed their time in Ireland with Colin's family and friends and exploring some other beautiful remote parts of the country. But by August, money was getting really tight and it was time for Libby to go back to the USA to get a job and save some money. After almost a year and a half they still hadn't heard any more about their marriage visa, so everything was still unknown. Libby moved to Aspen, CO for the winter to make some money and ski.

The visa was approved in March of 2023, Colin entered the USA on April 20th, and on May 8th, 2023 they got married on top of a mountain in Breckenridge, CO just the 2 of them. It was the happiest day of their lives. They promised their lives to each other and knew that there were no more goodbyes. It was a big surprise to all of their friends but the amount of love and support they received from everyone around them was so incredible. They couldn't wait to start planning their day where they could celebrate their love with all of their favorite people...
