Q + A

Will the ceremony and reception be at the same location?

The ceremony is at Our Lady Queen of Peace, and the reception will follow at the Madison Memorial Union. Check the “Schedule” tab for details!

What should I wear?

For men, black tie optional typically means a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie. For women, it’s usually a floor-length gown, a dressy cocktail dress, or a formal pantsuit. Since it’s a winter wedding, feel free to layer up with wraps or coats. That said, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable—please wear whatever makes you feel your best!

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 15–20 minutes before the ceremony begins to find your seat and settle in.

What kind of food and drinks will be served?

We’ll have an open bar with a variety of drinks to enjoy throughout the night. Dinner options will be included with your invitation so you can pre-select your meal when you RSVP. Come hungry and ready to celebrate!

Where is there parking?

There is a parking lot available at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church for the ceremony. For the reception at the Wisconsin Memorial Union, paid parking is available at the nearby Helen C. White Parking Ramp (Lot 6), 600 N Park St, Madison, WI 53706. If you’re staying at The Edgewater Hotel under our room block, you can drive back to the hotel after the ceremony to park. Shuttles will be provided from The Edgewater to the Memorial Union for hotel guests only.

What should I do in between the wedding ceremony and reception?

Feel free to relax or explore the area! If you’re parking at the Memorial Union for the reception, Max will be hosting a fun LineLeap bar crawl. You can walk to a few of Madison’s favorite bars close to the venue—it’s a great way to pass the time and enjoy the city before the celebration begins!

Can I bring a plus one?

We’d love to celebrate with everyone, but due to space, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, we’ve decided to keep our celebration an adults-only event, with the exception of our wonderful ring bearers and flower girl. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!
