High school Sweethearts. We first met in high school while working at the same job. In the months that followed, we found ourselves aligning our shifts and lunch breaks just to spend more time together. On New Year’s Eve, we finally went on our first official outing, and from that moment on, our story began. By March 2020, we started dating, and through the challenges of the pandemic, we were grateful to have each other’s support.

That fall, Isaac left for the University of Washington, while Cristal began working toward her CNA certification. Despite the distance, we were committed to seeing each other at least once a week. Countless midnight ferry rides, Link train trips, Ubers, and the generosity of friends made it all possible. This tradition continued for the next three years, with only a handful of times when we were apart for more than two weeks.

During Isaac’s senior year, Cristal moved in with him and began her first year of nursing school at Shoreline Community College. Shortly after Isaac’s graduation, we took the next step in our journey and became engaged. Now, nearly six years since we first met, we are building our life together in Edmonds—Isaac preparing for dental school and Cristal set to graduate from nursing school later this year.

It has been an incredible journey, and we feel so blessed to have found each other at such a young age. The memories we have created together are only the beginning, and we are beyond excited for the lifetime ahead.

Most importantly, we are deeply grateful to our family and friends, whose love and support have shaped our journey in more ways than we can express. We cannot wait to celebrate this special day with all of you!

Amor de la Preparatoria. Nos conocimos en la preparatoria mientras trabajábamos en el mismo lugar. En los meses siguientes, empezamos a coordinar nuestros turnos y almuerzos solo para pasar más tiempo juntos. En la víspera de Año Nuevo, finalmente tuvimos nuestra primera salida oficial, y a partir de ese momento, nuestra historia comenzó. Para marzo de 2020, comenzamos a salir, y a través de los desafíos de la pandemia, estuvimos agradecidos de tener el apoyo del otro.

Ese otoño, Isaac se fue a la Universidad de Washington, mientras Cristal comenzó a trabajar para obtener su certificación como asistente de enfermería (CNA). A pesar de la distancia, nos comprometimos a vernos al menos una vez a la semana. Innumerables viajes en ferry a medianoche, trayectos en tren Link, viajes en Uber y la generosidad de amigos hicieron que todo fuera posible. Esta tradición continuó durante los siguientes tres años, con solo unas pocas ocasiones en las que estuvimos separados por más de dos semanas.

Durante el último año de universidad de Isaac, Cristal se mudó con él y comenzó su primer año de la escuela de enfermería en Shoreline Community College. Poco después de la graduación de Isaac, dimos el siguiente paso en nuestro camino y nos comprometimos. Ahora, casi seis años después de habernos conocido, estamos construyendo nuestra vida juntos en Edmonds: Isaac preparándose para la escuela de odontología y Cristal a punto de graduarse de la escuela de enfermería este año.

Ha sido un viaje increíble, y nos sentimos muy bendecidos de habernos encontrado a una edad tan joven. Los recuerdos que hemos creado juntos son solo el comienzo, y estamos más que emocionados por la vida que nos espera.

Lo más importante es que estamos profundamente agradecidos con nuestra familia y amigos, cuyo amor y apoyo han dado forma a nuestro camino de maneras que no podemos expresar con palabras. ¡Estamos ansiosos por celebrar este día tan especial con todos ustedes!
