Important Booking Information Update
OH NO!
I missed the September 18th deadline!
It's okay we still have until November 18th. While our booking contract has released the blocked rooms back to the resort, you can still go to our booking link and request a room. The travel agent will reach out to the resort to confirm availability and then relay the rates to you. At this point, we don't expect the rates to skyrocket as looking into their website, it seems the rates are staying steady with our room block rates. However, it is a smaller resort and it does seem as though availability may be becoming limited (especially for double bed rooms.) We still request that, if possible, you book within our block through our agency as we get a little bit of kickback towards the wedding itself and we are expecting a decent size group!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Cydney, John, or Paradise weddings.
Where is the wedding?
Hyatt Vivid Grand Island Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort in Cancun, Mexico. The actual wedding event will be held at Hyatt's Ennea Beach Club. We will have a detailed itinerary included in a welcome bag for you upon arrival for the wedding day, but there will be free shuttles to and from the resort and wedding venue (a 5 minute ride.) More details to come!
How do I book a room?
Please go to our Travel page for the link to our room booking block. We are using Paradise Weddings as our travel coordinators. They are wonderful to work with, you can choose your room type and dates, and they will also set up round trip airport transportation for you ($50 per person total.) You will need your passport handy when booking a room, most resorts require your information to match exactly when booking. If you are interested in a different room than what you see is available, you can reach out to their guests email and they may be able to figure that out for you. If you're attending stag, a one person room is a bit pricier, so please don't hesitate to let us know if you want to find a roomie and we will help as best we can. I know a few people who would have a blast together! Please book the room through our agency link on the Travel page and not directly through the resort's website as they will not know you are part of our group and you will not get blocking pricing.
Important Booking Information
If you plan to attend, you MUST book a room with a $150 room deposit and the first half of your stay by September 18, 2025, but the sooner you book, the better. This will help our travel coordinators know if they need to add more rooms to our booking block and the block ends this date. Essentially, you can book with simply a $150 deposit at any time before September 18th. Due on/by September 18th is the "2nd deposit" which is the cost of half of your stay. Then, due on/by November 18th is the "final deposit" or the final payment for your stay. The travel coordinator will also request that you inform them of your flight information by December 19th to set up airport transportation.
When are RSVPs due?
We would love to know as soon as possible if you plan to attend, but by November 18th, 2025. This is the same date our room block completely ends. If you book a room before then, please RSVP as well! If things change, you can come back here and edit your RSVP as well.
Passports?!
Yes, please get one ASAP if you want to come and don't have one! If you do have one, check the expiration date to make sure it doesn't expire before the trip or within a couple months after as they sometimes won't let you travel.
When Booking, what is the Vantage Club?
The Vantage Club is slightly more per night, but includes extra advantages, such as:
-Personalized check-in and check-out with concierge in a separate lobby with a bar
-Exclusive access to Oishii Restaurant (on the rooftop) for breakfast
-Exclusive access to Rooftop Infinity Pool and Cobalt Bar
-Suites in premium locations with optimal views
-Upgraded bath amenities
-Pillow Menu
-Vivid box for room service delivery
-Lavazza coffee machine. John and Cydney will be staying with Vantage Club.
Can I stay at a different resort or bring children?
For the wedding, we are required to have a minimum of 80% of our guests stay at the resort with us. If you truly wish to stay elsewhere, the resort requires you to check into the resort for a $145 fee and they hold onto your passport until you leave the property. This is the case for attending the wedding and if you wish to come to our resort to spend other time with our group. We would prefer everyone to stay on site with us as we want to have a wonderful time with everyone by the pool or doing on site activities! If you need to bring your children, please know this is a child free wedding reception and therefore they will not be able to attend and you may need to find a childcare option. You will also have to stay at a separate family-friendly resort. There is a family friendly Iberostar Selection Cancun right next door and the resort connected to Hyatt will be a family friendly Dreams opening this fall or early winter. If you do decide to stay elsewhere, we likely won't be able to get you a welcome wedding bag with the full itinerary and will need to alert our resort, so please notify us so we can adjust accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience, but hope you can come have a wonderful adult vacation!
How long should I stay?
The room blocking offers plenty of options, but the resort requires 3 nights minimum stay. The wedding itself is on Friday February 6th, so we would recommend arriving by at least Thursday to settle in and staying until at least Sunday so you can have a nice relaxing recovery day Saturday. We will be staying likely Tuesday til Tuesday and would love to have time to spend with you!
Does Paradise Weddings handle booking flights?
No. They will arrange the airport transportation to and from the resort, but there are many direct flights and you can book those on your own. Flights for February 2026 are already available for sale. Please fly into Cancun International Airport (30 minute drive to resort.)
What is there to do at the Hyatt Vivid Grand Island?
While this resort is a bit on the smaller side, we love the activities they offer. It's been described by guests as "lively but relaxing," with two main pools, one offering exercises and activities, a rooftop infinity pool, the spa will be inside the sister Dreams resort opening later this year, pickleball, golf, volleyball, access to free non motorized water sports, and the separate beach club on the Caribbean. They also host theme nights, karoke, bonfires on the beautiful firepit deck, live music, DJs, and wellness, yoga, and meditation classes. There are also different arts and crafts classes, cocktail lessons, tequila tastings, Bingo, Blackjack, and so much more! We would recommend downloading the Hyatt app ahead of your stay to plan/schedule classes ahead. Through the app, you can also make daily restaurant reservations starting at 9AM. If you want to book excursions, the resort will usually help you with that and if you want to visit downtown Cancun it is only a 30 minute drive.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
The wedding is a completely private event at a beautiful beach club on the Caribbean, but will still have a casual flow and vibe. Think cocktail/ beachy formal. Dressy shorts are also fine for men. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be on sand and the reception will be on the restaurant level with wood flooring. Block heels or flats are recommended. Ladies- colors, prints, satin, flowy (whatever!) dresses are perfect, but please do not wear white, white adjacent (ivory, cream, etc,) or predominately white dresses.
What will be the easiest way to communicate in Mexico?
Please plan to download What's App! It is a very common and popular texting app and works well in Mexico on the Wifi. Texts and calls do not go through well there. We would love to have your What's App numbers during the wedding week so we can send updates or activities we are doing!
Did I miss a Save the Date?
No, we decided to skip Save the Dates due to our short turn around from getting engaged to our wedding (less than a year). As well as the time frame for needing to book rooms in our block and wanting to give our guests time to plan ahead.
Will there be a Bridal Shower or Gift Registry?
We will not be having a bridal/wedding shower and you coming to our wedding is a gift to us. We value our friends and family and would love to just spend quality time with you! If you still wish to give us something, we intend on setting up a honeymoon fund, which will be linked here closer to the wedding date.
