Our Love Story

Damien Snyder and Mecole "Meme" Hayes first met on U-Street, a hub for culture and nightlife located in the heart of the Washington, D.C. Meme caught Damien's eye while standing alone at the bar after a failed girl's night out. Just as she was preparing to leave and go crawl into bed, Damien made his way next to her and asked, "so you're just going to walk past me without telling me your name?", and the rest was history. 5 years worth of memories later and we’ve traveled to several beautiful countries, built our dream home and introduced 1 furry pup to our family. A few months ago Damien finally popped the question during an anniversary trip to Belize, and Meme said yes! After 5 years together we can't wait for this exciting new chapter to begin, and we're thrilled to celebrate with all of you on Sunday, June 4, 2023!

Where Is The Wedding?

The wedding will be held at a beautiful venue located 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis. 340 S Main St, Columbia, IL 62236 - Main Street AbbyOn-site parking available!

What Time Is The Ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. Doors to the wedding venue will close at 3:50 pm and will not reopen until the Reception begins. Please plan traveling arrangements accordingly! No exceptions will be made!

What Should I Wear?

The dress code is all black formal / black-tie, check out our attire page for inspiration! Please wear what makes you feel fabulous, our only request is that invited guests refrain from wearing white or ivory, as this respective color is reserved for the bride.

What Kind of Music Will Be Played?

There will be a mix of our favorite hip-hop and r&amp;b songs. From 9PM-10PM the music will become a bit more vulgar and provocative because we'll be taking you to O-Block and the 99 &amp; 2000's. The DJ will make an announcement before the change.

What if I  can't make it?

If you're unable to join us for our big day, please inform the Bride, Groom, or Parents of the Bride &amp; Groom via text! We would greatly appreciate knowing ahead of time that you're unable to make the wedding. Invited guests who cancel the day of the wedding will be sent an invoice for the amount the couple paid for their dinner and bar tab! Respectfully!

I  Have A Question, Should I Text The Bride?

Absolutely not! As of Friday, June 2nd, the bride will no longer be available to answer any questions in regard to the wedding. Please respect her peace and privacy as she prepares for the most important day of her life. All of your questions should be answered here, if you need a more specific answer, please contact the Mother of the Bride or Maid of Honor. Their contact information is located on the<a href="https://www.theknot.com/us/damien-snyder-and-mecole-hayes-jun-2023/wedding-party" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> "Wedding Party"</a> page!

What Time Does the Reception End?

The reception will end promptly at 10:00 PM! The last call for open bar will be 9:45PM! Join us on the dance floor for a last dance for all guests at 9:50PM!

I Have Some Gossip to Share, Should I  Tell the Bride On Her Wedding Day?

Respectfully, please don't! On our wedding day, we'd appreciate if our guests refrain from sharing any bad news/updates, gossiping or talking negatively about our guests, the event, or any individual who is not a guest at the wedding. We can gossip later, today we celebrate black love and marriage! Tell it to Jesus!

Do I  Need Cash?

We've covered your drinks, dinner and cocktail hour snacks. Please bring cash to tip the bartenders for the day.

Can I  Bring A Guest?

We would like to keep our wedding as intimate as possible with close family and friends so unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.

Are Kids Welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration! We hope this advance notice means you’re able to let your hair down and celebrate with us on our special day!

All guests arriving by air should fly into St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Guests should plan to arrange rental car or ride share transportation to and from the airport.

Board the Alamo buses to proceed to the counter and obtain your rental agreement and vehicle keys.
