Our story starts like many these days, late night Tinder Swiping. Logan, looking for funny stories to share with their very unavailable friends. Dan... booty. He would have never gotten lucky if it had not been for one very infamous Star Wars quote at the bottom of his Frat Boy try hard profile, “Like Anakin Skywalker, "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating -- and it gets everywhere". Logan knew that no-one in their right mind would choose that quote unless they were truly a Star Wars fan. With that notion they swiped and received a Super Swipe back!
We come from Disney families, both spending many childhood vacations running around the popcorn filled parks while racing to teacups filling our parent’s stomachs with dread. Luckily enough around the time we matched Logan had just been to Disney while Dan was arriving, so we were able to bond over a lifetime of sweet memories. After texting for little over a week, Logan agreed to go on a date with Dan after he arrived back from his family vacation. With both of us excited, we couldn’t wait, our first date was on a Monday night, January 27th, 2020.
Our date was unlike any we had ever been on. We started the night at The Board Room in Arlington. Dan ended up being slightly late and pulled the slick move of coming up to Logan at the bar and saying, “Is this seat taken?” We spent the next hour bonding over our love of sours and our rusty gaming skills. Neither letting the other win, because what’s the fun in that?
After a while we decided it was time to grab some food and drinks at a new spot, we walked over to the now-retired Whitlows on Wilson, R.I.P. While drinking and eating the most delicious mac’n’cheese balls we had ever eaten a fateful song came on the speakers.
“Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing , swing the spinning step…”
Dan leaned in and asked Logan, “Do you hear that?”, “I think we should kiss.” After a while of canoodling, we decided it would be fun to grab some scooters and ride down to a Bronson Bierhall to continue the fun.
Bronson lasted only a handful of minutes as the night was ending early, we were partying like it was a Friday on a Monday schedule lol. After hitting last call at Bronson we made our way over to Punch Bowl Social in a desperate attempt to keep the night going. Upon our entrance to the deserted multi-level adult fun land, we realized we were a minute too late for last call. We ended up spending our final hours camping out at the IHOP in Clarendon until we both drove home at 2am.
Since then, we have we spent a decent amount of time exploring new places together, Dan got an MBA from Penn State, Logan & Dain (Dan’s Step-Dog haha) joined in State College, PA while working remotely, traveled to Disney World via car with Dain during the East Coast Gas shortage of 2021, took a trip to Hawaii, moved to New Jersey, and got engaged!
