Jennifer and Daniel met at A-Kon, the convention where it all started. Jennifer was dressed up in steampunk garb. Daniel was selling a steampunk game. How could they do anything else but match up? (I was going to say "sync their cogs" but that sounded raunchy.)

If you're counting, that'll make them co-workers for 2,640 days... and they still plan on getting married! Daniel searched everywhere, trying to find a picture of them in 2015, and this photo taken at Marc & Dana's wedding was the only one I could find. We looked awful in this photo and we hate it, so please look at this picture only for the purposes of appreciating our "glow-up". PS: I can't believe Dana let me go to her wedding with those mutton chops. PPS: I can't believe Jennifer dated me with those mutton chops. PPPS: Those mutton chops were gnarly.

UPLIFT Desk gave us tickets for Six Flags. We knew it was going to rain, but that didn't stop us from having a blast! We took some friends with us and the park nearly evacuated when it started pouring, but this just made it extra fun for us: we got to go on a ton of rains, totally soaked.

Daniel and Jennifer at their company Holiday Party. This was their first holiday party together, where Jennifer discovered that Daniel has a weird habit of fluttering around at these events, chatting with everyone, and leaving Jennifer behind. Hopefully he won't do the same thing at his wedding!

We took a road trip out to Lubbock! Why? Calzones, mostly. (Frozen margaritas, secondarily) This was a blast, and Daniel loved getting to see the places that Jennifer and Nathanael had grown up. Plus, there was a ton of (fried) food, and the windmill museum was oddly cool.

This was Jennifer and I, mere hours before we both became insanely drunk at a Cocktail Conference. Tip #1: Don't go to a cocktail conference without having breakfast first. Tip #2: You don't have to finish all of the samples.

The last wedding I attended happened to be in India. How amazing is that? This trip was a surreal, magical voyage.

Jennifer and Daniel hit up the Texas Roller Derby. We never expected that this would be such a life-changing experience. We've become enthralled by it since.

2019 started with a broken ankle, but it ended with a fantastic trip to Japan! We spent 3 weeks walking, eating, walking, and eating more as we ventured across Japan. This was the best trip ever. We hope to make it out there again soon! This picture is of Jennifer eating a whole bunch of cotton candy.

We were in Kyoto. We'd been sweating all morning, and it was rainy, but that didn't stop it from being one of the best days of the trip.

As the pandemic started, we were always looking for ways to get out of the house and return to "normal". This was our first time picking up sushi and "eating out" after the pandemic started. We sat in the car outside of Haru and had a great meal... and it wasn't the last time we'd do that, either.

On our way to a family reunion, we took a full on Texas Roadtrip. We travelled through Dripping Springs, Houston, Dallas, Lubbock, Amarillo, and then finally Groom. Here we are with Whitney and Jacob, stopping in Houston at the Anvil. Those cocktails were mind-blowing!

Sushi... and engagement?
It had been a very tiring week at work, but we had Friday plans to pick up sushi from one of our favorite spots: Uroko. We arrived a bit early and ordered some matcha from Medici, then sat there while our food was being prepared.
I asked Jennifer if there was anything she wanted to do after we ate, and she shrugged sleepily. "Nothing I can think of, but I'd probably say 'yes' to anything after sushi."
She'd probably say yes to anything after sushi, eh?
After a fantastic sushi dinner, I pulled out two little boxes. They were "blind boxes" with little figurines in them, but where you don't know exactly what you're going to get. I handed her one and said, "Since we didn't get each other anniversary gifts, I figured we could open these as anniversary gifts instead."
Jennifer opens her box and pulls out a cute, pudgy little monster. She puts it on the table, looks up, and asks, "So what'd you get?"
I pulled out the ring.
And, true to her word, after eating sushi, she was willing to say "yes" to anything.
