What's for Dinner?

We are working with Rosemary's Catering to provide a served buffet during dinner. Our current selection includes: Arugula & Frisee Salad, Korean-Style Short Ribs, Zucchini Boats with Garlic Sesame Chicken, Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes, Honey Grazed Heirloom Carrots, and assorted breads. Please feel free to let us know on your RSVP if there are any dietary concerns we need to account for.

What if I get hungry before dinner is served?

As people who tend to eat at 6pm every day, we understand! We are planning on including passed hors d'oeurvres during the Cocktail Hour, including Bulgogi Beef on Sushi Rice Cakes and Shiitake & Crimini Mushroom Wontons. However, if you sneak in a candy bar for yourself, we won't be offended.

Can I take Photographs?

Please refrain from taking any photographs during the ceremony. Our photographer will take photos, and we will be delighted to share them with you afterwards! You can take personal photographs of yourselves, but please don't use flashes that could ruin our professional photographer's work.

What should I wear to the wedding?

You have a lot of options! We recommend such exciting clothing styles as: a shirt and tie, a nice dress, a full suit, clean pants and a nice shirt, or something fun we haven't thought of. The dress code is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Our theme is "galaxy and nebula" colors, so feel free to have fun with it.

What should I NOT Wear?

We recommend avoiding these clothing options: your bathing suit, your Viking Warrior reenactment gear, your itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, your lightly-used wedding dress, or your favorite pajamas (even if it is "pandemic chic").

What is the Wedding Party going to wear?

The wedding party humans will be given the choice to wear either a suit or a dress. The suit-wearers will be wearing a classic black suit with a colorful vest and tie (in green, teal, or lavender). The dress-wearers will be wearing infinity dresses in a range of nebula-inspired colors.

What will the Bride be wearing?

A wedding dress!

What will the Groom be Wearing?

Not a wedding dress! He'll likely be in his new blue suit, unless it gets really dirty in the next few weeks.

Where is everything occurring?

All wedding day events will take place at the Vista on Seward Hill. The venue has two buildings: the reception hall and the dinner hall. We'll have an outdoor ceremony in the ceremony place between the two buildings. There is a covered walkway, so if the weather becomes "memorable," then we'll be able to move everything indoors without an issue.

Should I plan for the weather?

April 30th historically ranged from high 60's to low 80's, so it should be comfortable. There is normally a 25% chance of light rain during this time of year. If we get heavy rain, we'll move everything indoors.

Is there a theme?

Why yes! We are leaning heavily into a Galaxy-inspired wedding. We'll be focusing on galaxy- and nebula-colors. Our dinner will focus on midnight blues and twinkling stars, while our dance floor will truly go for the galaxy.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Please aim for around 5pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:30, and we want to make sure you're able to get in, get a drink, and take a seat.

Where should I park? Is parking free?

Yes, parking is free! The venue has plenty of on-site parking. When you arrive, there will be a bit of a hill leading up to the venue. Parking will be on the left, and the venue will be on the right. You'll see a big gazebo right at the entrance to the venue.

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. Please alert us if we have left off somebody important to you.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

We are not reserving a hotel block, but please see the "Travel" tab on our website for hotel recommendations. We'll be staying near the Domain in North Austin.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the venue is entirely wheelchair accessible.

Where does the quote on the invitation come from?

This quote is from Robert Fulghum: "And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”
