Lacanau- Ocean is a family friendly, French surf town and where we spend time every summer, so we are so excited to share this special spot with you. Our hopes in having a celebration of our wedding is to spend quality time with our closest friends and family. There are plenty of VRBO/AirBnB houses available to rent. Being summer, we hope this is a fun opportunity to have family time. Come for 3-4 days of celebrations and take off to continue a Euro summer adventure, or stay longer and enjoy this like your week (or two) "at the cottage" - there are endless things to do in the Bordeaux region and we will be around. Because it is high season (not ideal, but trying to accommodate for those with kids!), most vacation rentals do a one week minimum. We will update the site with planned activities/get togethers during the week for those interested. During the week we will be planning outings to the lake (bouncy castle American gladiator, anyone!?), beach days on the ocean (a 5 minute walk from most places), yoga on the beach, jog/walk through the seaside forest and different events around Lacanau-Ocean so all get to spend time together. Wine tasting? You are in Chateau land! Shopping and a city tour? Bordeaux is beautiful… The Wednesday morning Market in the Village The Friday night market along the seaside E-bikes through the beautiful, dune side forests… Bringing the kids? Paintball, laser tag, surf lessons, the arcade, etc, etc… Stay a few days or stay a couple weeks, but be there for August 4-6 for poolside cocktails, our celebration dinner and dancing, and sunset cocktails overlooking the ocean…

We are excited to have everyone at ours for poolside cocktail/mocktails and pizza/BBQ. Undecided on food but decided on location and time! Can't wait to have everyone by ours. Prepare for a darts tournament and petanque (French Bocce) 71 Bis Rue Leon Dominique (10 minute walk from centre of Lacanau Ocean, parking on road for those staying further out)

Our Lacanau Ocean celebration will be officially held Wednesday, August 5th, 2026. Sunset cocktails before dinner. Exact time to follow. We are so excited for this for adults and **those with kids**. This will not be your typical wedding "venue" as it's not a typical "wedding" (as you already know!). We wanted to share some of our favourite spots in one of our favourite places with the people we love most. Cafe Maritime - the top floor private bar overlooking the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean is all ours, followed by dinner on the second floor - one of our favourite restaurants - and back up to the 3rd for DJ & dancing. Entertainment in the works - but get your dance moves in order for the dance off. **(This means kids are welcome!! Not that I have detailed plans for them, ha! May they lead the dance floor...or I may put Rome in charge to lead the pack? Will come up with some fun stuff to occupy them)

An afternoon at the lakeside beach. Bouncy castle fun for the kids, but also looking forward to tag on the adult sized American Gladiator splash park. https://splash-park.fr Less aggressive paddleboats and paddleboarding for the more sensible grown ups. Beachside fast food and restaurants across the street.
