Accomodation
Lacanau Ocean, (12 minutes west of Lacanau town), is a summer holiday destination, so as many places do in summer time, renting a cottage on Air B&B or VRBO may have a minimum stay (usually a week). (Some hotels and 5 Star Glamping sites may not be open for 2026 bookings yet)
If you are hoping to stay for just a few nights, there are a couple hotels we recommend below. One overlooking the beach (Cote D'Argent), one walking distance from our house (L'Auberge Canaulaise) but many more very cute options further back towards the lake (VitalParc quite close!)
Many people are hoping to stay a walking distance away from the beach, but keep in mind, as long as you have a car, there are PLENTY of places available around the lake (Lac de Lacanau), which is a 7-15 minute drive from our place (depending how far around the lake you are :) )
For those who are even more adventurous and catering for kids - 5 Star "Camping" - walking distance into town. (Seriously, look at these photos, kid heaven?!)
