Neither Andrew nor Danielle was thinking anything would come of their meeting. Expectations were non-existent, both of them wary of even the idea of dating.

The first night they met, Danielle had been invited to her friend's house for a game night, which was normal. Andrew was visiting from Alabama, which was not normal.

They didn't see each other for another month and a half, when he came to house sit at his brother's house, where Danielle invited him to go on a hike the next day. She charmed him with snacks and his authenticity refreshed her.

Their interactions increased once he moved into his brother's house in Tennessee, developing into a beautiful, tender relationship. New and hesitant, it was the first relationship either of them had been in since their respective divorces.

They quickly developed a deep love for one another, often admiring the same things about each other. The kindness with which Andrew spoke to and treated others, the honesty in Danielle's thoughts and opinions, the silly humor they embraced, and the values they both hold dear. Their communication was, and continues to be, a source of comfort for them both, a favorite and beloved aspect of their relationship.

Months later, the painful decision was made to take space as they both navigated some hard lessons they had to learn separately. Ultimately, they both individually needed to know what they wanted for themselves in the long run. Andrew moved back to Alabama and Danielle remained in Tennessee.

Only a short while later (though it did not feel that way to either of them) they reunited with the intentions of spending the rest of their lives together. Andrew and Danielle got back together, much to Henry's delight.

Nine months later, Andrew proposed to Danielle on the coldest and windiest of January days, with Henry as a witness.
