David and Dev’s love story kicked off in true millennial fashion—on a dating app! What started as casual chatting quickly hit a little hiccup when Devin ghosted David for a bit. But no worries—David came back a couple of weeks later with another message, sparking up fresh conversation and reigniting their interest in each other. The “get-to-know-you” questions flowed, with both of them lovingly calling them “lame questions” to warn the other of an impending cheesy inquiry. As the days went on, David invited Devin to his David Kroll and Heartland show in Nauvoo, Illinois.

Fast forward to show day—Devin was way late getting to Fort Madison, and David almost thought he was being stood up! But once they finally met, it’s like all things in life had aligned for that moment. The show went off without a hitch (as usual), and the next day they had an unforgettable trip to Iowa City, indulging in food, drinks, and good times at Big Grove Brewery, all while continuing to bond in person.

Five years later, they’re now engaged, with Devin popping the question right back at Big Grove Brewery! These two are now deep into the Burlington scene, working hand-in-hand with their Queermittee crew to make the next Pride on the Riverfront a blast (just a week after their wedding!). And, when the day winds down, they enjoy some Mario Kart before bed, with their furry sidekick, Tucker, snuggled up next to them. Talk about a love story!
