For anyone interested in a night out, Dustin and some friends will be at the American Legion bar, at 210 W F St in Encinitas, at 9 and will hang there for a bit, likely followed by a handful of other bars around town.
If you're driving or taking an Uber/Lyft, you can type in San Onofre State Beach and it should pop right up on your map. Or, you can also use the directions below.
The directions to the state park entrance are as follows:
From Oceanside/Carlsbad, head north on Interstate-5 approximately 20 miles, then exit at Basilone Rd.
Take a left and head southwest on Basilone Rd, crossing over the freeway, toward Old Hwy 101/Old Pacific Hwy.
Continue onto Old Hwy 101/Old Pacific Hwy for approximately 2 miles, then turn Right at Beach Club Rd (one mile past the El Camino Real stoplight).
Continue straight through four way stop and then KEEP RIGHT, you'll see a small brown State Park booth.
Tell the guard you are headed to the wedding at the Beach Club on Pendleton and they'll wave you through.
Continue straight down the road until you see a large, metal, perimeter fence. There should be a pickup truck at the entrance straight ahead. Pull up, tell him you're attending the wedding and be prepared to have your ID checked.
Continue straight and you'll see a yellow building ahead and to the left, with a red/brown mission style roof. Parking is on your right.
Call Dustin or Shannon if you encounter any problems.
Remember that question about the bus on the RSVP? That's this.
If you said you would take a bus from Carlsbad Village to the venue, AND BACK, then you're in luck, cause we got one.
We have the names of the 50 folks who wanted to take that golden chariot, so they have priority. If there are extra seats, you're welcome to climb aboard.
It will pull up on the SOUTH side of the Bear Western Plus hotel (look at the beach, turn left), on Pine Avenue. It will arrive at 2:15 on Saturday, and depart at 2:30. It should roll up to the venue at 3.
That same bus will hang in the parking lot, so I'm sure the driver will say you can leave things onboard at your own risk. It will depart at 10:20, arriving back in Carlsbad by 11.
You have to bring your ID for the security check at the gate. Please don't leave it behind, because there's a chance they'd make you actually go back and get it instead of being waved through.
Also, it's still Hawaiian shirts and shorts, flip flops and sundresses. The shorts don't have to be fancy, unless that fancy attribute is that good for on land and in the water. In fact, you should consider bringing a bathing suit incase you want to get out there. More than a few folks will break from the tacos and drinks to paddle out; welcome to do the same!
ALSO ALSO, it's open bar, but feel free to bring cash to tip the kick-ass bartenders and taco folks.
