Whose marrying us?

Andrew Joseph
Andrew Joseph - Officiant and Official Third Wheel
Justin and Ellie's first adventure as a couple was a road trip around the US, and AJ tagged along. What was inevitably going to be a fun week turned into a foundation for a lifetime friendship. He is someone they both deeply admire and expect FREE pediatric care consultations in the future for giving him this honor :)

The Ladies

Nadia Salman
Nadia Salman - Maid of Honor
Nadia and Ellie originally met at Cornell College, but became best friends living in Colorado (they have ex-boyfriends to thank for giving them the friendship of a lifetime). You can find them hiking, drinking wine, eating Postinos, reading fantasy books, traveling together, or planning their dream life of living and studying in Europe together. Forever. Want a good story? Ask Nadia about when she and Ellie crashed a DU college party only two years ago!
Sarah Calhoun
Sarah Calhoun - Bridesmaid
Sarah and Ellie met on the first day of Freshman Orientation at Cornell and have been inseparable best friends since. You can find them chatting about Taylor Swift, playing the daily NYT games, drinking beer on a boat, eating Mac&Cheese, or reminiscing on Ellie's bad decisions in college. Want a good story? Ask Sarah about the time they took a stats class together at Cornell :')
Will Scripps
Will Scripps - Bridesman
Some call him Will; I call him Willy. One time when we were little he let me sleep in his bottom bunk (for a full year because I was afraid of finding spiders in my bed) Big brother energy right there. Will nurtured my love of travel, and his encouragement alone gave me the courage to travel the world solo. Man, I am one lucky sister to have him as my brother to keep me in check.
Jason Haas-Hecker Scripps
Jason Haas-Hecker Scripps - Bridesman
I am told "Jas-y" was my first word. Apparently, I said it during an intense board game between Will and Jason. It doesn't surprise me. It was probably the universe gifting Jason with an early apology, knowing that I would marry a guy with a "J" name that would often get mixed up in arguments. J, is my teacher in so many ways. Many of the lessons he taught me kept me out of trouble much more than it did for him! I love you bud.
Melissa Bard
Melissa Bard - Bridesmaid
Melissa and Ellie met in the 1st grade at Evergreen Mountain School! They have been sisters ever since (22 years and counting!?). You can catch them reminiscing on old memories, watching Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, or dreaming up the next 20 years of their lives together. Want a good story? Ask her about Ellie's 9th birthday.
Holly Julch Scripps
Holly Julch Scripps - Bridesmaid
Holly and Ellie first met via FaceTime on a the tail end of a date with Jason (Ellie's oldest brother) and instantly connected. Holly is the big sister Ellie always wanted. You can catch them hanging out with potato baby Nico, making homemade pasta, dancing in the kitchen, or shopping at Anthropology. Want a good story? Ask about Christmas 2022.
Vika Scripps
Vika Scripps - Bridesmaid
Vika and Ellie first met in Thailand, where they quickly realized being sisters-in-law was going to be the best ever! Besides bonding over style, you can find Vika and Ellie talking about TikTok videos, looking at houses on Zillow, and poking fun at Will. Catch them playing Hanabi, traveling together, or drinking coffee over a long chat about life. Want a fun story? Ask Vika about our trip to Koh Lanta, Thailand!
Sarah West
Sarah West - Bridesmaid
Sarah and Ellie met in Amsterdam while they were studying abroad in their junior year of college in 2015!! You can catch them chatting on the phone for 2 hours while they fill in the 6-month gap since they last talked, flying in Sarah's plane because she is a freaking PILOT!!, or binge-watching Survivor on the couch. Want something to chat about? Ask Sarah about our wild night in Porto, Portugal.

The "Gentlemen"

Mitchel Gearhart
Mitchel Gearhart - Best Man
In kindergarten, there was this short, pudgy kid running laps in the back of gym class. It was Mitchel. I was back there too, running like a moose. That day, we made the unsaid promise to stick together. One other fun memory: 1. We were 10 (give or take), and Mitchel was the starting catcher on the opposing baseball team. Someone hit a pop fly straight up in the air, Mitchel ripped his mask off, blocked the sun with his glove, and then caught the ball bare-handed.
Jordan Darling
Jordan Darling - Best Woman
Ever since Jordan tried to scoop my eye out with a spoon, we've been friends. You might assume "we had to be friends" but clearly that wasn't true given her actions when I took over as the center of attention. At some point, we chose to be friends. Since then, we've laughed, we've cried, and eaten likely 1,000 tubs of ice cream together. Her kids, Audrey, Eleanor & Everett, are now arguably the primary reason why I love her.
Brit Connor
Brit Connor - Groomsman
Our football coach at Cornell would often say "which one of you slow, white dudes is that?" Brit and I looked the exact same on film. I would personally add the adjective "strong" as well. Ask Brit about the drinking game we created looking out my 17th floor window in the big city (Cedar Rapids). Brit was the first person I called the morning I got hit by a car riding my bicycle to work. He is pretty great. His little boy, Harvey Jace, is the newest reason I want to visit Iowa.
Tim Grosel
Tim Grosel - Groomsman
When I was little, I really wanted to be Tim. He was the fastest, strongest and smartest in the class. Then in middle school, I fell in love with his twin sister. Thankfully, when Paige dumped me, Tim and I remained friends. Let's be honest, he needed a try-hard, mediocre athlete by his side to make him look better on the basketball court and baseball field. Tim is an Ophthalmologist. Like my sister, he also has a weird fascination with eyeballs.
Mike Faison
Mike Faison - Groomsman
Mike, mike, mike... Mike first got his name in the family by requesting "will you have grandma send more fudge?" Mike and I were floormates freshman year at Cornell. He drove his Chrysler 300 from Florida to Iowa. At one point, I window chalked his car as "for sale for $500". The prank left him with his phone ringing off the hook. Ask him how he got me back 3 years later... Today, Mike serves in the Air Force. After 3 years in Hawaii, he recently got to change to being stationed in North Dakota. How lucky.
Charlie Zilaitis
Charlie Zilaitis - Groomsman
For a long time, I really did not like Charlie. I moved from quarterback to tight end after freshman year of football at Cornell. I put on 20 pounds in the offseason and really enjoyed catching passes. Unfortunately for me, Charlie came in the next year and became an All-American as a freshman. Once I let go of my ego, we started to get closer. Charlie and I have been through a lot together and I love the hell out of him. Listen closely as Charlie will likely say something out loud that everyone else is thinking. He is now trying to figure out dad life with his beautiful boy Odin.
Alex Lambert
Alex Lambert - Groomsman
You can find us on the beach, working out, while everyone else is waking up. Strangers walking by might think we are giving it everything we have to impress them, but we both know we are simply competing. Who can jump higher? Who can keep better form for one extra rep? We love random challenges, deep conversations and blaming grandpa when things go wrong.
Bryce Lightner
Bryce Lightner - Groomsman
Bryce is my guy. There is a certain bond that comes with having the heart and passion of an Olympian but being caged inside a different body. Bryce is arguably the least athletic of the groomsman. That said, he is the only professional athlete among us (now retired). When we catch up, we generally laugh until we cry and then try to solve the world's problems.
Alex Latow
Alex Latow - Groomsman
Alex is one of the big reasons Justin went to Cornell. We made a handshake (after a few beers at a St. Patty's Day party) on my visit and he said "if we both remember this handshake tomorrow, you have to commit." Now Latow's entire gym hates Justin because he makes them do 10,000 pull-ups every year (sometimes more). Alex's daughter Paisley is the real reason they are so close.
Sam Garrison
Sam Garrison - Groomsman
Sam & Justin grew up together in Marietta. Sam has always liked going fast. Starting at age 5ish when he was wheeling Justin around in a little red wagon through the house. It was great until Justin flew out on a turn and cracked his head open on the wall. Mom's famous line "Quiet down, I'm on the phone." Soon after "why didn't you tell me you were bleeding?!" Sam and Justin love exploring Colorado together: biking, skiing and hiking.
