Our Wedding

We met during medical school at the University of Missouri. The first night we met was extremely memorable and I don’t think either of us knew that we would end up here someday. Emily and her roommates had invited a small group of people over, and then this friend of a friend (Brian) tagged along. With 10 minutes of his arrival, his beer bottle was knocked by a stray elbow, knocking into and cracking his front tooth. We would later bump into each other again, and the rest was history. The future was bright, and both of us were extremely driven to succeed. Unfortunately for those unfamiliar with residency match, a random computer number generator decides where you end up for the 5-7 years of training.  Emily has been in Cincinnati, OH completing general surgery training. Brian landed in Lexington, KY for ENT. We have lived just under 1.5 hours away from each other for the last 6 years. It has been some of the best, worst, exhilarating and challenging times for us both. Under these conditions, our relationship was fortified and we are extremely excited to finally see the end in sight. Brian is completing a fellowship at Northwestern in Chicago, and will be finding his first job wherever Emily goes to complete her transplant fellowship. We are so grateful for everyone’s love and the unconditional support of our family. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone! Wear comfortable shoes, we will be dancing all night.
