Since we have so many out of town guests, we are extending invitations to everyone for our rehearsal dinner - it's really more of a "welcome" dinner. Valet parking is provided for the event! It's on Valentine's Day, and we love a theme, so we encourage everyone to wear PINK and RED and HEARTS and KISS A LOT or whatever makes you feel lovey <3 <3 <3
We will share more info about the rehearsal itself with those involved when we have details.
What should I wear to the wedding?
Dress YOUR best - whatever that means to you. Cocktail attire is preferred, but do what you want. We are hoping to have the ceremony outdoors if the weather is nice, so plan to be outside for 30-60 mins depending on your arrival time. Norfolk weather can be quite unpredictable in February, so check the temperature often and dress accordingly. Overcoats, shawls, or other cold weather gear is encouraged.
What are the wedding colors?
Most of the wedding with be shades of Champagne/Gold/Ivory/Green.
Bridesmaids will be wearing GOLD.
Groomsmen will be wearing ... something.
The bride will be wearing white :)
Are children allowed?
Sure! Per venue rules, parents are expected to look after their children for the duration of the event. The mansion is over 100 years old and some items may be delicate, so we should ensure the venue is treated with respect. Also, please indicate in your RSVP if your children are coming as they will be included in our guest count.
Where do guests park when they arrive?
There will be a complimentary valet service for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. However, consider taking an Uber/Lyft, renting electric scooters, or even walking if you are staying nearby. Ghent and other nearby neighborhoods are beautiful and very easy to travel around!
What's the drinks/bar situation?
We will offer a selection of beer, wine, seltzers, and non-alcoholic options during the cocktail hour and reception.
