Ski Day

Ski Day

We are hosting a ski day at our wedding venue and would love for everyone to join us! Tickets are complimentary, and rentals and lessons are discounted. Skiing is one of our favorite hobbies, and we are excited to share our passion with our friends and family and even introduce some newbies to the slopes! Please don’t hesitate to join us even if it’s for part of the day — whether you can only ski in the morning or make it for a run or two in the afternoon, we’d love to see you for this pre-wedding festivity.

Where: Dartmouth Skiway, 39 Grafton Turnpike Rd, Lyme Center NH

When: Friday, February 21st (the day before the wedding!)

What time: 9 AM - 4 PM (these are the hours of Dartmouth Skiway, feel free to come whenever works for you- we will be there from ~ 10 AM - 3 PM)

Q & A

How do I get my lift tickets, rentals, and lessons?

Lift tickets are complimentary and can be reserved online through the link below. On the day of the event, you can pick up the physical RFID card/ticket at the Dartmouth Skiway ticket counter. We recommend booking lift tickets in advance, but tickets will still be available on the day of the event if you prefer to keep your plans flexible. Rentals (including skis, boots, poles, and a helmet) and private lessons for both kids and adults are available with a 20% discount- use code “HITCHED” at checkout.

What if I’ve never skied before or don’t ski?

No worries! Dartmouth Skiway is a great beginner mountain, featuring a "bunny slope" learning area, 2 lifts, and 28 trails (25% beginner, 50% intermediate, 25% expert) which all lead back to the main lodge/base area. We also recommend a lesson to get you started if it's your first time! If you don’t ski, you’re still welcome to join us- feel free to relax by the fire in the lodge or buy a burger and a drink at the restaurant. We will unofficially reserve a large table in the lodge for anyone who wants to hang out. Check out the Dartmouth Skiway website for more information about the lodge and mountain, and to see the trail map:

What do I need to bring for the ski day?

Wear warm, waterproof clothing (jacket, snow pants), gloves, a face mask/balaclava, goggles, and long socks. Lockers are available on-site if you need to store your belongings or change once you arrive. You can either bring your own food for lunch or purchase food and beverages at the lodge.

Will there be shuttles to the Skiway for the Ski Day?

We will not be running a shuttle to the Skiway on Friday for the ski day, and we recommend driving there. There is plenty of free, on-site parking. Feel free to reach out to us or other guests if you need to plan a carpool!

What if the weather is bad? Or if there's no snow?

We will still be at the Skiway no matter the conditions- melted, icy, rainy, or no snow at all! However, if the weather is bad enough to prevent safe driving, we will instead spend the day hanging out at the Norwich Inn, and we will communicate our plans to everyone.

Important note about cell service:

There is virtually no cell service at the Skiway, but there is free public wifi available (no password) at the lodge. Please plan ahead if you are meeting people there, download maps/directions in advance, and enable wifi calling on your phone.
