It will be peak season, but you know, it's Yosemite! It's busy for a reason. There is also a mass abundance of natural beauty that is not located in the park itself.
It's a thing.
Hetch Hetchy Hiking – day trips
The Hetch Hetchy Valley hides in Yosemite’s quiet northwest corner, where few visitors make the trek from Yosemite Valley. It’s a great hiking destination, with lower elevations and a longer hiking season. Remote trails, waterfalls, mountain peaks, and wildflowers characterize this area.

Rent bikes for a day to do the busy Yosemite valley exploration, and get to trail heads from there without driving
Rent a bike and cruise around the valley’s paved trails. There are more than 12 miles of bike path in the valley that lead to trailheads, visitor centers, viewpoints, and more. If you didn’t bring your own bike, there are plenty to rent and borrow in Yosemite Valley.
