What is the dress code?
Black Tie Optional - Somewhere between formal and black tie attire. Dress to impress, but please keep modesty in mind for the church.
Can I bring a date?
Due to limited space at the reception venue, we've only accounted for those whose name is on an invitation. All are welcome to celebrate the Mass, but we ask to refrain from bringing a guest who is not on our list to the reception.
What is a Nuptial Mass and what can I expect?
The Nuptial Mass is a full Mass which includes special readings and prayers pertinent to the sacrament of marriage.
Am I eligible to receive Holy Communion at the ceremony?
All confirmed Catholics in a state of grace are eligible to receive Holy Communion. To protect the oneself from harming their soul by receiving the Sacrament in a non-suitable way, we ask that non-practicing Catholics opt to receive a blessing from the priest by placing their arms across their chest instead of receiving the Holy Eucharist.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
We ask that guests arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to allow ample time for parking, choosing seats, and preparing their hearts to celebrate the Mass.
Will transportation be provided from the ceremony to the reception?
While we unfortunately cannot provide transportation for our guests, the Charleston area offers ample rideshare services if personal or rental vehicles are not a suitable option.
What will happen after the ceremony?
After the Mass, hail your transportation and head over to RiverTowne Country Club for the reception for a light dinner, dancing, and live music!
What if I cannot attend the ceremony?
You will be dearly missed! Please still RSVP so we can get a headcount.
Are there hotel rooms blocked off for the wedding?
The short answer is no. As most of our guests are traveling from out of town, we want everyone to get the most out of their trip and experience all that Charleston has to offer! With this in mind, we did not reserve hotel blocks, but opted to recommend a variety of hotels based on location and price range. It may be helpful to refer to our "Local Recommendations" tab when deciding which corner of Charleston best suits your stay.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! There will be an open beer and wine bar for the entirety of the reception. Please refrain from bringing outside beverages and enjoy what is provided!
Visiting from out of town?
Thank you for making the trip! You can find details regarding lodging, good eats, and things to do under the "Lodging" and "Local Recommendations" headings.
What is the weather forecast?
Although we can never predict the future, early March in Charleston is typically mild, hovering between 50-65F each day with a small chance of rain.
If there are any updates or changes prior to the wedding, how will they be communicated?
Although we do not foresee any changes, keep an eye on your email!
Where should I park?
At St. Clare's: There is ample parking to the side of the church as well as across the street in front of the school.
At RiverTowne: Park in the parking lot in front of the main entrance.
All of these options are free!
